Moshboy: Have you checked out The Faceless and Dimmu Borgir? Fleshgod Apocalypse is amazing as well!

Been listening to a lot of Sybreed lately, anyone else heard of this band?

I've been listening to a lot of Whitechapel lately, such a talented band.
I've noticed lately that a couple of the deathcore bands have released some pretty messed up film clips, actually messed up is an understatement, they're fucked up to the point that I'd be surprised if they haven't broken a few laws along the way. I like a good gory death metal film clip but there are boundaries and they've gone wayyy over them.

Hey JanGG,

most definitely into Dimmu Borgir & have The Faceless' 'Planetary Duality' album & quite like it. Generally listen to the more traditional Generes (Death, Black, Power, Prog & Thrash), along with their sub generes

Don't have my finger on the pulse like I use to & can't say I've heard of Sybreed, will be sure to check them out though.

Latest offering from local Power Metallers LORD (formerly Dungeon), who supported Iced Earth on their recent tour to our shores -:

Anything new in the groove metal scene? Was just going back through my Suicidal Tendencies and Pantera collection. Anyone still playing groove metal?

Not groove metal nor new but I literally get goosebumps when I listen to the riff.

anyone recommend anymore "new" bands still doing the old school metal...

Glad you liked the Black Tide; I'm in the same boat. Taking recommendations for fast, heavy and clean vocals.

Avenged Sevenfold is about as screamo as I can handle.

For any Metllica fans not already aware, the band recently acquired the rights to all of their music, taking control of their back-catalogue from Warner Music Group. This includes all songs, long form videos and, if I understand correctly, the master tapes to their albums. So stay tuned for some re-mastered classics...

I saw Refused a few weeks back. It was the most amazing show I've ever seen. Absolutely blew my mind. So tight, so much energy and such a good showman.

Going to see Alexisonfire on their farewell tour Wednesday night, should be alright.
