That seems to be the problem There are great deals on some bikes and frames. I am very tempted but don't want to give the old bike away for a clownish price.
Buying a frame seems the best thing at he moment.

Hi @russthedog do you know if either of these can be shimmed down to reduce travel a bit? I'm looking for a dropper to go on my daughters Roxter 24. The seat tube is thick enough to ream out from 26.8 - 27.2mm and would like to make it last as long as it can rather than getting a 65mm one.

Im not sure sorry dude - they arent promoted to have this feature. The internals are really similar to KS posts, if that helps?

This might help:

I've reduced the travel of brand X droppers. I have an older KS lev I could test this out on.
