ditto .... am in for the 50km. A 50km sprint is enough. Did 2:38 last year - need to improve on that, especially the back half where I think I coasted a bit.I'm planning on the 50km. 2.5hrs of pain is plenty.

Agree, I rode with him yesterday and he smoked me up the climbs while still talking! Admittedly he could talk with a mouthful of marbles underwater!Time for the hunge!!!!

Nah, i rather like the 50km distance. It's long enough to "sprint" but still need a good deal of endurance fitness. Plus you're all done and dusted before lunch :-DTime for the hunge!!!!
Ha Ha……I Still have to work on the down hill bits though! Was cornering like a hobo yesterday
While your beer + renos might affect your climbing, you're still hammering it when the track points down

I much prefer short and sharp stuff compared to the 6 hour + slogfest/sufferfest. This old rotting carcass of a body doesn't like sitting on a saddle that long!

Yes and he does it on a ridged SS......umm sure. You did say you're able to ride at a World Cup pace, yeah?

FYI the winning time last year for the 50km was 2:17 - and that kid has represented Australia at the XCO level.
Good stuff mate. You are going to love it...then hate it...then love it again when you finish !I'm in for the 100 and my first OO.
I believe Forrest was full as soon as the race date was released! Try Colac or Apollo Bayhey guys, any tips on trying to find accommodation in Forrest for the weekend. Planning to come over from Perth for this however trying to get accommodation close has rendered itself very difficult.
Cheers
