I rode a 29er hardtail for the first time the other day and dam, i'm hooked! Yeti Big Top with full XO build...around Ourimbah it was incredible. I must have something like this sometime soon.

Got a 2011 Specialized Rockhopper Comp 29 a few weeks back. Lovely, stiff bike to ride. Forks are ok, but may be upgraded someday.
I highly recommend your first upgrade to be the removal of the wheel reflectors.

Apart from that, nice. :)

Fortunately or unfortunately, depending on which way you look at it I dont really know how it goes with the new fork...and I wont find out for about 2 months!
A quick spin round the block and it does feel like it would have been a much better choice for the SSnats than the rigid pegasus...but thats hardly a shock.

Im off to the US and Sth America for about 2 months this week, so I wont get out on this till December...

Actually, heaps of riding...all on motos though. Hoping to visit Phil Wood & Paul components while in Cali though.

Its 10 days on Harleys in Cali (pretty hilariously tragic stuff) the Peru and Bolivia through the Andes on dual sport sort of bikes for 3 weeks...then meeting my fiance in Hawaii for 2 weeks on the way home, we might do some MTBing there I think.

This is going to be a long week!

Bog Stock when Photo taken.

Since then:
Seat changed to Phenom 143mm (cos they fit pretty much perfect for my butt)
Bars changed to Easton XC70 with Cane Creek Lock-on Grips, and post changed to to Noir ex Ribble Uk for $160 the lot
Will be changing to tubeless when the weather is crap enough to not be riding it ;-)
Not a huge fan of the tyres in gravel, but as soon as they are stuffed will put somehting more appropriate on, climbs well though.

Ridden to work a few times now (for a change from the roadie), managed to sit on 36kmh from Canning Bridge to Narrows behind a six-pack of roadies (did sound a bit like a tractor though)
