What a useless turd , can only hope justice is served with some extremely unpleasant jail time . Nice work and thumbs up for those who helped with the info. Hope your feeling better and back out riding soon .
If its justice, it needs to be served with a pillowcase full of doorknobs.

I was chatting to people at the race in Willunga at the weekend.

I would suggest that riders who are going solo at fox to park up at the top car park as there is usually a few more people around up there, plus the winery and houses close by.

So it's not the first time? That really sucks because the new CORE loop is awesome.

Sorry I should have made that clearer... I seemed to have missed out a sentance or two!

What I was meaning was that the lower car park (at night time especially) is quite often used for people doing burnouts/donuts etc and there has been at least one burnt out car there in the past (with a body). I think its known as a quiet place to go to have fun/cause trouble and im guessing thats why they may have been there with a car with no licence plate. Maybe they arrived to do the usual and seen some easy pickings.

As my first post said - its probably a bit safer to park up top where there are usually more riders around. And if you are there on your own wanting to ride dh, just ask to join one of the other groups as the majority of us that are there at weekends are more than happy to have another rider tag along and help with uplifts.

That being said, I have never found any trouble there and I have been most weekends for the past few years. Probably bad luck more than anything.

Thanks mate. Agreed, I have parked top and bottom and never had any trouble - I remember the burnt out car too. I usually head there on weekends though when it's a fair bit busier and usually try and park my car in view of the road.

News comment

Hi guys i was jumped yesterday afternoon in the bottom carpark at fox creek conservation park they stole a GoPro hero3 Black edition, White THH Full faced helmet, 8Gb ipod touch and a Black rip curl wallet. They were driving a maroon Hyundai Exel sedan Without number plates, Be careful riding alone. I had to get dental stints to hold my bottom front teeth in as well as stiches in my upper and lower lips
Hi Derp - i work for a local news organisation. Reckon you could get in touch? Not too sure how this forum works exactly, but if there's an option for a private message perhaps that would work best?

Also, if anyone else has had similar experiences to Derp - or can vouch for the way the MTB community sticks together through times like this - it would be great to hear from you also.

Thanks,
Bee5

Alright Guys, Sorry for taking so long but here's a bit of an update The stints will remain on my teeth for at least another month, i will require several root canals at a specialist in 3 months and i am finally able to eat normal food other than mushy wheatbix and soup. The police have retrieved my helmet, wallet and the goggles but i am unable to physically reclaim them for another six weeks until after the court case as they are evidence. To my knowledge the guy is in Yatala and was denied home detention, He also has other similar charges against him.

Let's hope he gets a bit of anal realignment during his stay. Seems like the perfect candidate.

Good to see you're on the mend, eve if it is slowly. Root canals aren't as bad as everyone makes out, more boring an uncomfortable than outright painful.

Good luck with it all.

If you haven't already looked into this, you might be able to claim a percentage of your medical (and dental) expenses back through a compensation scheme that most States and Territories have established to compensate victims of crime. I'm not familiar with the SA scheme, but I've done a quick search on Google for "Victims of Crime SA" and found enough information to get you started.
