Just booked a little runaround trip to get me there and back over the weekend without missing work on friday or monday. Pretty much every flight to and from canberra over that weekend was booked! So I'm doing a Bris > Sydney flight, Sydney > Canberra bus to save some money, then Canberra > Bris early morning flight to make it home for work. All this for the DH finals!

Can't remember exactly but it's not far from the YHA. Someone posted a link to a google map of it in one of these threads.

I've got my sleeping arangements sorted,

1/ Drink
2/ Drink more
3/ Goto Club
4/ Find Fugliest Girl (guy in extreme cases)
5/ Chat up said thing
6/ Spend night at their place
7/ Get Rash cream
8/ Steal soaps from nearest nice hotel
9/ Show soaps to friends thus proving you stayed in a hotel

what happens at the opening cermony. is it similiar to what happens at the olympics, etc. am thinking of heading up, and would like to know what to expect.

Judging by last year I wouldn't expect the opening ceremony to be very exciting at all. It'll just be a buch of cheesy local commercial radio jocks and pollies pretending to give a shit about MTBing for half an hour.
