Is that even possible?
I have a SATA hard drive running in an USB 3.0/2.0 compatible case, when I plug it into the USB 3.0 socket into my laptop it continually disconnects and reconnects and doesn't show up in "Computer", it works fine in the two USB 2.0 ports. When I had a lok in Device Manager to see what is going on I noticed it was only registering two of the three ports on my laptop, both are the USB 2.0 ports.
Can someone give me some instructions on how to fix this? I'm not overly computer literate so the more detailed the better.
Have you tried turning it off and then on again?
:lol:Very funny Rone, I got it.Have you tried turning it off and then on again?
What USB drive is it? A link would be great......
I'm guessing you have a drive that requires external power.
Yup. Needs external power.
Usb 3.0 draws more power. A lot of these drive caddies need an additional usb plug to supply enough power to the drive.
so this would explain why the case came with a USB power cord?
