Awesome race, good coverage too this race, lots more angles and more shots than we have seen previously and they were all decent.

Stoked for Sam such a boss. I only just noticed hill had dental work. He used to have gaps in all his teeth. Either I don't pay enough attention or I pay too much.
Troy had a shocker, interesting. Its funny though when new bikes come out, whenever a rider does well they talk up the new bike, whenever they do bad its never the bike haha. Good end to the season.

Womens race was great too, stoked for manon too, I like her as a rider, young talent with a good attitude.
I noticed a lot this race that the women really have stepped it up, they have always seemed to look timid and nervous on the bikes even when they are having fast runs, but watching the top girls they really don't have that nature anymore and just charge hard its good to see.

Bring on worlds in 2 weeks.

One question - where was Greg Minnaar? Did not hear his name all weekend.
racing, he was in a car crash 1-2 weeks ago so his pretty sore, he qualified in 141 but was protected and finished in 10th (he crashed in the finishing area).

They really needed that to be a little but longer.

Apparently had a big car accident a week ago. Came in 11th still (check out the feed for his crash over the finish line).

The only problem I had with this year is that I needed to watch the world cup winners talk, I'm not very good with accents and I couldn't understand what either Manon or Ratboy said without lip reading to assist!!!

Cheers I looked further into it and his car rolled twice apparently so pretty serious crash. Is he the one who crashed into the barriers? He was flying.

It was a really good race with most of the last half dozen being in contention coming down the last grassy slopes. Very sad to hear of the Dutch girl passing away after crashing in XC training. The races today may be a bit subdued.

You heard it here first
Wow what a race even the girls were killing it.

Sam and Josh has made my day and been a great year of racing just feel a little sorry for Sam missing out on 3rd in the overall by 1 point to Gwin

^Once punched Jeff Kennett. Don't pick an e-fight
Hill in first with four riders left I'm praying for him
Watching the last four riders was so intense! Hill destroyed the bottom grass section, held that inside line so tight!

Also, horrible to hear about the XC rider that died... I've not heard anything official about it though, does anyone have a link to what happened?

Looked more like nose ride to bail to me,, hehe

Awesome race on an awesome track. Results were perfect except I feel a bit bad for Troy. Can't believe how fast they can ride(guys and girls). I'd be on the brakes the whole way down except for the bits I walked... haha

I basically blew it last night. Got loose at the pub, home in time to watch, concentrated on the womens then woke up to find Sam Hill crossing the line in first place. Damn you Coopers sparkling ale!!!! Had to watch the replay during breakfast this morning hung over.

Awesome race with some crazy lines being taken, can't believe the double step down some riders took on that first rock chute footage (ie Ratboy and Sam) and Sam slayed that bottom section. Not Troy's weekend as he had a crash in his race run, and Minnaar must be one tough bastard to be racing after his car accident. Warners comment was piss funny "in the morning his neck will feel like it's taken a Viagra" after he binned it an the bottom.

Very deserving overall winner this year and looking forward to the World Champs. Very tragic news about Annefleur Kalvenhaar http://www.cyclingnews.com/news/kalvenhaar-dies-after-crash-at-meribel-world-cup.

Anyone know how it happened?
Tragic news for the cycling community. I don't follow xc at all but any time something serious happens it sends waves through the entire community of riders.

yeah. Not ideal given his neck was already strapped up and in bad shape. Seems trivial though given the incident in the xc.
