I love a good Banh Mi, but I'm struggling to think of one I've had where beetroot has been involved.
Hence your use of the (pissweak) adjective 'good'.......!

Not actual weight...that'll be the weight of disappointment when discovering that some heathen as ruined your lunch.
Eh? The Vietnamese lady who prepared my Vietnamese dish is a heathen? Riiiiiiight.........

Beetroot is fuckin sick on sandwiches.
Yes it is, I usually have it daily in my sanger, but not in a bahn mi.

"I have a real issue with gourmet banh mi. People add things like beetroot, different types of meat, things that are not traditionally found in banh mi. I think it's nice, but it's not banh mi," says Ngo, who has been eating banh mi for almost 40 years.

Well Ngo can eat his without beetroot. Eating them for 40 years doesn’t mean he’s right.

It’s the maggi sauce, pate, mayo and the pickled carrot/daikon that makes bahn mi bahn mi.
Eating one without those makes a much larger difference to the roll than adding beetroot.
