I am always impressed with a clean desk. I have a never ending slow growing pile of crap between my monitor and keyboard.
When the pile turns from hill into mountain then I spend time cleaning it all up and filing it all away. Rinse and repeat.

Virtual machines are awesome and can do away with too many peripherals too.

I have had a recent laptop upgrade now to 16Gb and I can finally run several VM's at once and it is enough to have my small product test network that I can take anywhere. Let is be known that VMWare virtual networking is a bit squirrely too and doesn't always do what you expect / hope / pray.

For a long time the wall was a legalised graffiti area. It worked really well to help reduce graffiti around town, there was a real epidemic in the early to mid 2000s. Anyway a while back a big developer went to war with the slate park's location, they wanted it gone and felt it was too close to their newest development. In the end the graffiti wall was canned but the skate park stayed. The paint there is graffiti resistant and always covered in sea spray making it difficult to work. Every now and then some of the layers break away and the old graffiti is revealed from underneath.

Side note is that one of the oldest pieces of convict era engineering is nearby. But because it's Newcastle nobody knows about it and it's hidden behind a bunch of shitty bushes. And of course it smells like hobo piss.

There is always some story behind graffiti. I know the council here turn up occasionally to clean up the park signs when some kid gets a false id and gets some spray paint. Some places do suit graffiti but I'd guess the Newcastle council would be hot on the trail to clean it up on their pristine beachside location.

That is one of very few, if at all, skateparks I've seen graffiti free.

Think summer time hobo lemon party with a group golden shower wash down afterwards but no towels to dry off, so just a drip dry in a mostly sealed room. This all after climbing a lot of stairs.

That's where you'd be wrong...that little stretch of Coast line has a long and sad history of being a neglected shit hole. I think it is linked to the difficulty of commercialising the spot.

Fair enough, I am over optimistic way too much. Skaters won't like commercialisation anyhow and are too busy sticking it to the man.

Or they are mostly teenagers that don't want to be too far from Macca's and riding scooters. That skate park was built when I was in high school and was one of the first in the area. There's a few scattered around now and it is a lot less popular. Makes it good for middle aged losers on bikes. I'd get a woody if the local council realised that bikes and other fun things need a little space too. They need to modernise their thinking.

Sadly you don't see that many skaters compared to back in my day and the skate parks are full of scooter rooters.

Vintage skateparks have to be a good thing. You don't want talented 15 years old sneering at you while you are busy doing old school tricks on your unfashionable vintage bike while showing ample plumbers crack :)
