Contact cyclingo in Hobart, or check out their facebook page.
I know it's not local, but they are a good crew and will steer you in the right direction.

The specialise in converting 650b compatible 26" bikes to the 650b standard.
They've done a bunch of builds, santa cruz, jamis and a few others.
They may be able to advise you of what 26" frames and forks convert successfully if that's up your alley, rather than being stuck with a 650b specific bike.
Also a thread on here somewhere with 650b compatible frames and forks.

Well I know the Sight was awarded trail bike of the year @ what magazine last year and with the new 650b set up it's supposed to be better than last years...From what Ive read it's the stiffest frame too- definately good value for the spec. Watched one go down a track like a DH bike, they got that rear end tweaked!!! Norco are really trying to claw back some market share and are bringing out some real cool trail weapons at more affordable prices. Just what I've noticed, the sight personifies what they're tryin to do - make a kick ass trail bike-check out some reviews on it - I'm getting one in a couple of weeks - when it arrives.....aparently it climbs pretty good too.

Mate İ wouldnt advise on dropping $$ on a Scott.. İ just got a full refund on my Genius LT 10 due to multiple failure.

Scott did not wanna know about the issues at all and İ believe after sales service is important

I have a deposit down on a Sight B-3. Was told by a couple of shops that Norco are initially only bringing a few of of these bikes to Au and most are already spoken for (I forget the exact numbers, but it was something like three left out of twenty). Not sure if it's the same situation for the B-2.

When I put my deposit down on the B-2 in mid November I was told the first shipment would be landing the week of Christmas, but to not expect the bike until the first week of the new year.

Don't know how accurate that information still is, or even if it applies to B-3's.

Just got a call from the bike shop, my B-2 has arrived
But won't be built until next week

If it were up to me, I would be considering the Scott partly because you will save a couple hundred dollars which can go towards getting a dropper post etc. Secondly the twinloc system is a great system it goes from extremely rigid to a very nice trail setting. The other positive about the scott is that it comes with a talas fork, so no fork upgrades will be required

I was looking at these the other day pushie, but what sort of $$ for a frame roughly. I'm finiding it so hard to decide on my next ride. If only it was as easy as choosing a car for me lol
I like 26" but enjoyed riding a 29" found it gripped better for me in the corners but honestly think this was the different wider tyres. Only benifit maybe that it rolled over things better. I find my 26" rolls just as well. 650b would be a great compromise. Is there any 650b trails bikes under the 3g mark or around te 3g mark?

frame.
Zula 650B target is $1950 ... trying to get it slightly lower
No shock option as well, - $400ish

SLX build approx $4290* 650B
XT build approx $4795* 650B
Fork for both is a Revelation RCT3 27.5" which is why the price points are not significantly different
*no pedals

Yep got one down the road like 300m from me lol. Thats where I got my Fuji hardtail and my flatbar commuter. They have some Norco's in but not 650B would they ride similar as like you say only ones in the country at the moment are those on order (read somewhere). Is there a date they are likely to come into the country into the LBS's?

Jonny Sprockets has some of the Rocky 650Bs in now also. Priced pretty good I think. Think I read on the first page 3799 for the Altitude 750 but thats the carbon. Alloy priced at 3199. I think Im going to wait and see what next years models bring. Sorta of a financial thing also as I cant afford a new bike now it helps me hold off lol
