Visiting Melrose for a couple of weeks, staying at Bartagunyah ATM. Headed out to one of the local's favorite trails, the Whiskey Trail as well as the other trails at Bartagunyah. A pic on the way out to Whiskey

Also there's a new super-d flavor trail being built here ATM, will post pics of that later on.

Here's a little video that's been a wee labor of love the last month or so. I guess it's about the Spring wildflowers, mountain biking and magpies... or it could be about a mid 40's guy having yet another mid life crisis :single_eye:

Shot around Castlemaine mainly, some at Tarrengower too. Have posted screencaps from video previously in this thread.

If you think the video sucks, close your eyes - at least the music is groovy :clap2:

better in 720p/fullscreen

one of the coolest riding vids i have seen, great edit and tight camera work for a (mostly) self filmed project!!!

As a juxtaposition to all of you guys, here's one from my hour long bash around in the snow yesterday.

It was a quote from one of guides from Mansfield (All Terrain Cycles) that had taken the group on the ride down Klingsporn. It was also agreed by other more experience DH riders who had ridden it on the day.

Given they were guides in the area and had ridden in many locations I took their word for it, it was a big call, which is why I listed it.

I am not a DH rider, more AM so I listed the quote for what it was - an opinion.

No doubt Klingsporn is tough to ride and you have to be an your game the whole time - i guess there are different degrees of what is considered tough. Maybe it's less about speed and drops on the Klingsporn and more about exposure and a technical descent.

Thanks for reading the post and your positive comments.

Cheers

Youies - Cressys

My favorite part of a ride at the You Yangs - a roll down Cressys Descent:

MR76 - I'm not particularly begrudging an opinion, that's not where I'm coming from. My point is more this: if a downhiller read that and made a trip up to ride what is described as the best dh trail in Australia, they would be extremely disappointed. This is by no means to say its not a great track, but it is definitely not a dh track. It is far better ridden on a trail/am bike than a dh bike, which is generally the opposite of a good dh track. That's all I meant by that. And FWIW I did thoroughly enjoy reading your blog.
Peace on Earth.
