Advice on unwanted insurance replacement bike

I'm sorting out replacing a couple of stolen bikes with our insurance company. I have no interest in one of the replacement bikes (value is >$5000) and I'm looking for tips on what to do. Basically, I'll probably never ride the bike or even have it built up and will look to sell it straight...

    Bar ends

Definitely look worth trying. I'm getting a new bike that doesn't have bar ends. Will be interesting to see how I go after years of riding with them.

    Bar ends

Nice one. Is there something you insist you have on your bike? My bar ends I couldn’t do without. A painter has a signature in their paint, the bar ends are my signature. 90 percent of riders don’t use them, but I think it’s an advantage as you can open more of your chest, breathe better...

    Bar ends

This seems like the most reasonable explanation. This has already been "discussed" here: http://www.rotorburn.com/forums/showthread.php?248715-Bar-Ends-Yes-or-No&highlight=bar+ends

    Bar ends

Bar ends for mountain biking, what happened? I still use mine whenever climbing but they seem to have gone to the wayside on new bikes. What's the deal?

I meant the point of the *post* was to accentuate the killjoy aspect.

    Buying a hardtail 29er

Yep, absolutely. Probably the only thing holding me back was that up until today I thought I was a xc bike. Will have to think it over...

    Hi from Hobart

Had a (very) brief ride on a 27.5 this morning. Dunno, seems like a bit of a boring half-way house to me!

    Home Brew

I've been chucking some coffee beans in the top of my stouts for a while now. No real reason other than it makes for some interesting flavour beyond the stock kits. Funny thing is it can give me a bit of a headache as my body screams "Where is the caffeine hit!?" :)

    Buying a hardtail 29er

I'm looking to buy a hardtail 29er. Mostly I ride xc socially with loads of single track, serious climbing, technical downhills blah blah blah. No racing. Current bike is an old Kona Blast, circa 2002. I removed the Rock Shox years ago and replaced with a stock hard fork. So I'm used to a...
