So, so ugly.
You don't like the front triangle either?
Personally I'm quite fond of the front, if the rear was designed better and followed not only design but the lines from the front they would have quite a nice looking bike imo.

my god you lot sound like bitter old fucks. Have you ever ridden an ellsworth, can you seriously comment on the suspension design and how they ride- or is it just the looks. I have ridden a truth, joker and an Epithany over the years.

Along with 30 other bikes - I love to try one- cant afford one but would gladly take one.

Tony Ellsworth was not overly popular and his bikes copped it as a result. New owners- lets see if they can claw back some market share- good to see they are trying a few things and giving it a red hot go.................. shouldnt we?

Imagine if we wrote off brands that were uncool at some time or we didnt like for some reason- Intense, Kona, Trek, Giant, Cannondale, Diamond Back, etc- all brands have made models that either didnt work, disliked, different direction or were problematic. I wonder how much of the anti ellsworth sentiment is due to the man.

Beauty is subjective and cannondales had many issues in the past with cracking, whimpy scalpels, their pepperoni fork and headstock where shockers. I brought an m series off the first national downhill champ- it had original 2 inch elastomer manitou. He rode it in Xc and DH

Of course, beauty is in the eye of the beholder but I'm only speaking for this particular holder, not announcing the findings of a scientific study or anything. Crackn'fails were still cool when they were cracking. I ride mine pretty hard, stair gapping, hucks to concrete flats, etc. and they've sucked it up beautifully. So mine are Fonzie level cool.

its clear that they ran out of room to put the full title of the bike on the seat tube, why didn't they use the top tube or down tube to put the name on (DARE YOU TO BUY ME)

That front triangle looks like an Evil Undead (kinda, I think, just a little), but you can make it a trail bike and call it an Uprising. That rear end though, there's just no arse on it it's all skinny and silly and I don't like it.

No, many of his later bikes were shit, and he screwed over a lot of his customers on the definition of "lifetime" warranty. MTBR threads on this. Also sued Turner over his ICT patents vs. the FSR they'd licensed off specialised. Hope the new owners paid him fuck-all for his trash brand and it dies a deserved death.

I'm running a NOX 170mm 650b and bloody love it. I think my Holy Grail rig is 650b 180mm. Other than the Dare or perhaps a firebird what else is there?

Based on what bikes ive owned and ridden and trails I ride I'd be bloody keen to take it for a ride in 180mm mode.

I'd love to know ppls ages who love and hate ellsworth.

Im 31 and froff over em.

I'm 45 . I have never thought much of tony and his business ethics or style. Back in the late 90's and early 00's the bikes were raved over in the press. I tried one and loved the way it rode so I bought one. Was later offered a cheap replacement so bought another, a moment . That turned out to not be the " one bike suits all" I wanted it to be so bought an epiphany and was given for peanuts a rogue.
I still have the epi and I think it's a great bike. The rogue I've modified massively with a shorter eye to eye shock, off set bushings and an angle set headset but it's still not what I want geometry wise . really I'd like 180mm. Was holding out for an Uzzi c but intense don't seem inclined to produce one. So looked at the YT but it's only 170mm

I think this Els dare is ugly and yes the back end looks mismatched to the front but I don't care about looks, it's about ride and yes the suspension design is old but it's still a very good suspension design.

Not the better than anything else in any situation tony claims but in some situations it's really good. It's best for off the brakes ploughing down the side of a mountain strewn with rocks and roots. And that what I enjoy.

Just don't expect it to be the best at stand up sprinting to the line.

So yeah I would try one and if I liked it I'd buy it.

And I hope the new owners manage to break the brand away from the bad image of the man who's names on the side.

Maybe they should reserect the Aeon name.
