I agree with the leave Dan alone, but there are some systemic issues that this whole clusterfuck really highlights.

• Just because the contract technically shifts risk and responsibility to the supplier doesn't mean that we should be happy for government to delegate critical public health functions to private and inexpert companies
• A contract may provide avenue to pursue damages/allocate blame after the fact but it is worth precisely fuck all in preventing issues from arising in this case. Once the virus is out and in the community, being able to blame the right person does nothing to fix the problem.

It seems odd that no-one said "should we make sure there's always a government-employed and health-trained professional team leader on shift to oversee the security guards?"
