'Pearl Jam' covering 'The Who'
Baba' O' Riley.

Alternatively on an entirely different stint

Eddie Vedder doing Pete Townsend's "The Kid's are Alright"

Please let someone get this half assed joke.

I don't know.. is this a good one? I'd find it hard to believe ANY band could cover Reznor and do him justice. Can u give me the song?

As said before, Hazy Shade of winter, Bodyjar's version was great, but I'd hope so considering the genius it was drawn from.
Other ones I love:
Gimme gimme's "Hello", very cleverly different,
Blueline Medic's "Precious Things" I am a big fan of Tori, but I dare say I prefer the cover in this case.
Primus doing Jerry Reid's "Amos Moses", that song rocks, and the extra hillbilly tone Les brings is uber cool.

Cover that shits me: Millencolin doing "A Whole Lot Less", it's too fast, and what's worse is I can't find the damn Sub-society original anywhere!

The Beastie Boys and Biz Markie cover of Benny and the Jets (originally done by Elton John) is one of the funniest songs i have ever heard.

Don't change by Grinspoon (originally done by INXS) i like also.

tori does pretty good covers herself!
smells like teen spirit and angie.
Angie is phenomenal.
Tori covered Angie??? Wow, I haven't heard that one! I've heard teen spirit, but not Angie; I love that song though and I can imagine her rendition being great. Was it released or should I just look online?

Speaking of Tori Amos, her cover of Eminems "97 Bonnie & Clyde" adds a dimension of spookiness that the real Slim Shady could only dream of.

The Angie cover is actually quite old. about 92-93? I had it on a tour promo cassette (swiped by a so-called friend & tori fan). Look for an mp3.
she sounds so Robert Plant, its almost erotic!

I laughed today at the news about george michaels retirement. He is putting all of his music free on the net.
Thats sorta groovy, but I don't reckon i'll be downloading any!

Sounds like a different marketing ploy to me....

Maybe their thinking they will make new fans, who might on the off chance go buy his cd...

Royalties are a musicians friend :)

War of the Worlds by Alchemist
Message in a Bottle by Machine Head (originally by The Police)
Fourplay and Apocalyptica rip out some pretty good covers too. I have plenty more to list, but my brain isn't quite switched on right now.
