Although it is true that the DaBomb CR8 is quite similar to the .231 hardtail, and in fact shares some of the same pressed cromo components, your statement is nowhere near the full story. From my understanding both were contracted out to be built in the same Taiwanese factory. Apparently when you contract the construction out you can choose to have exclusive rights to the dies used to make certain pieces of the frame, .231 chose not to do this.
