New trail between Beechworth and Yack.
Bit of a hike from my place, but could make for a fun weekend.
Anyone know much about the trail?

Have ridden the Yack loop that's been open for a while. The section to Beechworth is what opened yesterday. Best done on a hardtail. Get up to some high speeds on the descents with all the rollers.
Most people skip the start from Yack trailhead which is existing and start from the fireroad. Can also shuttle the descent if a capable 4WD.

LBS was asking if I had thought about an e-bike the other week. The nerve! What am I fat and middle aged….oh wait.

I was at Plenty gorge the other day and saw nothing but fat guys on e bikes, they are taking over.
Actually I did meet a nice bloke on a Revel Rail, he stood out from the herd muffin tops

I've seen a few Strava rides from cycling accomplices over the last few days.

Both directions, starting at either Yack or Beechworth and visiting the town at the other side as a halfway break, being Yack if you started at Beechworth and vice versa, then back on the opposing side of the loop, looks to be 60km with 1500vm and taking over 5 hours.

This was a mates effort for the shifty50...don't think he was dordelling around as he set a KOM on part of the descent.

Just had a good look at his, if you start in the centre of one town and visit the other town, there is a climb from each town to the loop, which means its a descent when leaving the loop to head for town.

Nearly 10km to leave the loop for Yack and about 5km for Beechworth, depending on what side you start.

Raced the Flowduro (35km) on Sunday which skips the loop down to Beechworth. The majority of the climbing is up from Yack.
