Welcome Gemma!! Wow what a small world! Out of all the chicks that have showed up on this forum, 2 of us are OT's and another a disability carer! I just recently had a massive stack (the weekend just gone) and had to call work yet again to tell them I can't work due to a mtb accident!! They all think I'm mad - They keep telling me to go buy an exercise bike instead!!

Hi flin.

Welcome to our humble website and the world of Farkin.net!

Whilst on Farkin, could we ask that when posting you make an effort to communicate more with words than emoticons. Also, when announcing yourself, as you just have, please provide us with a bit more to go on, like who you are, what you like to ride, how you came across farkin, etc. Hello doesn't really give us much to go on!

johnny (not a girl!)

Perhaps you are one of the few for whom exercise bikes are not recommended, Roxy - something about the equipment unable to provide sufficient challenge?? Hmmm, you've got me wondering what stunts could be pulled off on the bike trainer??!

Hi there Flin, Don't worry about Uncle Johnny, he means well and if you are up for a good discussion, in words that is, he is the one with whom to do it. Otherwise welcome. Why the surprised look? Can't say much else except good to have another girl? sign up. I would love to know more about you..................who wouldn't? With that I shall leave you and hopefully you will respond in words soon. ;)

A brit n Kiwi

Hi Im Kay

Im 24 from Dunedin NZ

Riddin for a few years now although I broke a leg earlier this year n spent 6 months off the bikes

I own a few bike but my DH rig is a specialised bighit which may soon be replaced, I have a Santa cruz bullet as my all day ride terrian bike and a Trek 6700wsd as my HT also a commuter bike as well n a few others floating round

Im into DH, and jumps mainly I love getting air but some of the freeride stuff scares me a lil but hey u get that

I hate lycra and refuse to wear anything except my shorts undre my baggies, just found some decent cheapish womens specific baggies with inserts so the lycra may become redundant
Im a student Im studying occupational therapy and have almost finished another science degree in anatomy and physiology (i de-stress by riddin lots)

oh yeah n Im new here might be heading to aussie next yr at the end for a placement so thought I'd rear my head here now...

cheer all out

oh my god - what's that now, 3 OT's and one disability carer!! This is just getting freaky!!!!!! Maybe there's some link between being an OT and mtn biking!

Welcome aboard Yak! I wonder where you'll be doing placement! It could be at my hospital! :p (not likely, but a chance!)

Sorry to hear about your leg... But glad that you're on the mend!!
