Corrosion is much more of an issue with salt water. That's why the manuals/instructions for watches, jewellery and waterproof gadgets all insist on you rinsing them off with fresh water after you've been for a dip.

I found some of them amusing til i realised they are just people trying to enjoy christmas their way and were mostly probably pretty proud of their achievment in photgraphic history so i felt bad then
