I dont think he will win the TT as there are several others faster than him and everybody will line up for Ventoux.
I think the Bourgoin-Jallieu >> Aubenas stage after the TT is a stage suited for him. Nice little kicker at the end with a fast and short downhill to finish. All the big guys will be resting for the Ventoux onslaught.

How good was last nights stage, had a bit of everything involving all of my favourite riders.

Thor Hushovd out front on his own for more than half the race to consolidate his green jersey. Absolute impressive effort, this guy is more than "just a sprinter". Hope he hangs on to the Green until the end.

"Stewy" busting his guts at the front of the peleton for hours on end to keep a good fast tempo. Great effort and didin't go unnoticed by the comentary team. This guy just keeps putting in.

The Schleck brothers tearing the field apart on the final 2 climbs.
Love watching these guys toying with the other riders.

Contador showing all that he is the man to beat, only stuff up on his part was the acceleration when he dropped Kloden. Other than that a faultless ride.

Armstrong, doing the right thing and waiting until Wiggins was spent then took off to make up some of the ground he had lost. A couple hair raising moments on that final decent but the guy truely is a legend of the sport.

Can't wait to see how it all pans out over the final couple days.

He's not the only one. I wouldn't be surprised if Cadel abandons today. He just doesn't want to be there. I'm actually starting to feel sorry for him.
Don't feel sorry for him, he's a whiny bitch. I'm ashamed he is Australian; not because of his performance, but because of his attitude. He was the same when he was in MTB, always making excuses and never taking responsibility for himself.

I don't think Cadel will abandon at all, although he was in the groupetto in yesterdays stage and from his twitter account he was saying that he kind of enjoyed it. I think there is a bit more to the story.

My opinion is that there has been a bit of a reshuffle within the team and that Cadel has pretty much been told he won't be getting the help he needs to stay competitive.

Yeah his twitter site today says good luck to the GC guys fighting it out, but for him its just a training run. sounds like he has thrown it the towel, why not try to win the TT??????

Has there ever been a Negro competitor in the Tour De France that has held a position worth noting?

Please excuse the lack of PC-ness.

Bit of a dubiously PC and unexpected question from you Mattydv... I'm sure you have reason which will come up in the next few hours;)

What's with the biopace style chain rings; didn't we decide they were a horrible idea and should be smelted and used for military hardware to express full hatred of the enemy?

Im not sure, why?
Just curious really. I was having a discussion about the Japanese rider being the first Asian to finish the tour (unless he crashes out in the next few days), and the conversation switched to Negro riders, or in my knowledge (and it is very brief admittedly), the lack of.

Contador wins the TT!, beats all the known TT specialists!, i was sure he would loose time here to ALL the TT guys.
Although as per usual Greg lemond is questioning his performance he does have a point, if the figures are to believed the required VO2 max to climb the verbier stage as fast as he did(he set a new record) kind of points to one conclusion.
He may be the TT champ of spain but a 60kg rider beating ALL the TT specialists at the tour on a flat course.
That will only add to the suspicion

Maybe they are trying to have a higher turn over in riders so they are making them run theses rings so that there knees explode before they hit 30  fuknbipacebulshitwhatisthiscirca94mumblemumble

Contador is a shit person for fucking lance over by not going with what the team wants. I hope lace will bury him next year in his own team
