FB has most of the bikes...it’s just currently full of flogs asking double what things are worth.
Gumtree is full of scammers. I wouldn’t buy off there if you paid me.
Bikeexchange used to have lots of new bikes on clearance...but it’s a bike drought with few bargains.

You could put a "wanted to buy" listing here on Rotorburn in the exchange area (apply first, according to the instructions)

RB is a good community and people here often help each other out with parts and such, on the proviso that the buyer isn't going to go to Facebook and flip them for a profit.

To play devils advocate - what are your bike maintenance/ repair skills like? There is something to be said for having a rapport with a LBS if you are mechanically challenged?
Also bear in mind one of the great loopholes in life is that a bikes warranty is only valid for the original purchaser. If you buy second hand they will promise to help if you have an issue but soon disappear once they have your money.
