Certainly is for me! I rode behind someone on a fairly stock Canyon the other day and I’m dripping with bougy bits and he was faster, better and more naturally talented than I could ever hope to be. Plus he’s been off the bike for 3 months through injury.

The Scotch Yoke turns rotational motion into a pure sine wave. It hits peak acceleration at the top and bottom, peak velocity at the side positions. This @laba_seven dyno can run up to 3 m/s, which is about half the speeds a fast and aggressive rider can generate.
