Post your 29er!

My 29er SS. A couple of bar and stem changes in the past two years, a few more scratches, and a trip off the back of the ute at 100km/h hasn't worried it a bit. Is set up fixed at the moment, for extra fun.

Nice bike. Love the colour.
As for it's trip off the ute, I've been behind a mates car when 2 bikes came off at 100km/h on the freeway. Amazing to watch!!!! They to only had a few scratches and a torn seat. Glad to hear yours survived the experience.

Damo from Cog Bike Cafe painted it up. The orange colour is called Indy Orange. It's the paint that Holden used on some of the old Torana's. I Have regressed from two V brakes to one now as she is running fixed gear. I still run tubes too, but I am a dinosaur. I prefer the lounge with some dark chocolate in wet weather anyway.

Cannon Fodder
Flash 29 one...

G'Day,

You need to be very careful with Cannondale regarding components.

We forward ordered a 2010 Flash 29er 2 expecting it to come with BB30 crankset.

It showed up with a low end Shimano crankset. Similar problem in the U.S. The difference is that when pushed, Cannondale upgraded the cranks - no such luck over here.

So, another $1K to get the crankset it should have had in the first place.

I've also noted that the 2011 Flash 29er 1 no longer comes with the very light Cannondale BB30 cranks, may be part of the trade-off for dropping the price by $800 between 2010 and 2011 models.

Note that all of above refers to Alloy, not carbon frame bikes.

Finally - my personal experience only - but the local distributor has a lot to learn about customer service.

Hi I have just been drooling over the flash 29 one at my LBS and one of the things he highlighted was that it had the si bb30, and he wasnt on the hard sell as i have bought my last 4 bikes with them and the bike sells itself. just thought i would point that out

I was reading in the special edition of Enduro mag an article on Gelli's bikes/frames interesting approach & design, reckon that bike should last years. What sort of $$$ for a custom built 29 frame?

The carbon is spec'd with Hollowgram SL BB30, ($7500 RRP)

The alloy is spec'd with FSA Afterburner BB30, ($3100 RRP)

Lower spec'd alloy have the heavy Shimano M542 just like the one we purchased.

2010 Alloy 1 was spec'd with Hollowgram SL, now has afterburner. Easy to tell 2010, it has the "ball burnished" finish on the frame

Hey mtb101. From memory the frame and fork was $2050.
The bike as per the the photo totalled just over $3600 including the frameset.
The parts aren't super light but should last a while.
It weighs in the mid 9 kg range now as I run the Schwalbe tyres which are fairly light.

Really liking the looks of those wheels. Very nice.

Have you put many miles on them yet? I'd be interested to know how you rate them against anything else you've ridden.
With all the rain in sydney since I built this bike up I have done a total of 70km on the new wheels.
they do feel amazingly stiff, and roll super smooth when freewheeling. Speaking of freewheeling, the rear hub is a noisy fecker!
