Project Car / Motorbike thread. Let's see 'em.

APR tune and diverter valve (done by previous owner but If I'd bought a stock one it would have been first step anyway), bmc filter and Seat Cupra intake plus the KW V1s and TT wheels. Still need amread sway though the KWs have helped a lot, then Milltek DP and either S3 or Boxster brakes, though they won't happen for a few months. I'm prety happy with how it is at the moment, though it's by no means finished.

Nice to see some love for the TT wheels, the only others I would have gone for is the old S3 wheels or some Ultraleggeras to save weight.

I reckon a set of those old salt shaker porsche wheels would look wicked on your polo leitch. Hmmmmm where are they

Bad photo....on another note, i hit and killed a wallaby about an hour back coming from a mates through a dark outback sort of road. Bit of damage but the vroom vroom came out surprisingly alright. :(

The phonedials are cool but a) the last thing I want is to be fucking around with adapters etc for stud pattern, and also b) I didn't want to go the BBS/Porsche twist/SSR route that all the Yankee dubbers go with their cars. I'm happy with them, they won't be changing unless I score something by OZ or Speedline for super cheap.

Ahhhhhhhhhh ok. Nice.

APR hmmmmmm think im a GIAC man. Its all good...

So you guna get the whiteline rear sway bar? KW's are an awsome product, I have been saving up for some V3's for my Mk3.

Ultraleggeras are some of the most wheel porn on this planet. I have seen a few sets in 5x100 in import monster/yahoo.jp

Keep up he goo work and enjoy it!

Yeah if I had done it myself I probably would have gone a different tuner company but oh well. If I get to the point that the tune is the last limiting factor, I'll go custom. I was going to get ultraleggeras from tire rack as you can get them sub 1000inc shipping but these TT wheels cost me about 550 all up including the wheels, postage from Sydney, powdercoating and fitment so will do in the meantime. The KW V1s are a much more no-frills product than the Teins I had on my subaru and I would love the damping and camber/castor adjustments they had but again, until such time as I buy another car and turn the polo into a track weapon, they are more than sufficient.

Big fan of the VW man, my dad had one for a while and I considered getting one when the engine in my 180 died, but the cost to get one to a stage I liked VS the fun I'd have with it was a little too much for me. Plus being the president of SilviaWA means I have to keep buying Silvias >.<

At the moment I'm working on this, got it running and relicenced and such then 2 months later it's killed a big end so I'm just putting another engine in.

Trying to decide if I should put a better turbo on it, been offered a 3071 for cheaps, so would be around 400hp without much effort. This is the setup here;

Thought i'd post the recent pics of my commo. includes new venetian blinds and slightly lower in the rear. Picking up my statesman bootlip on wednesday, then that's getting put on with a boot respray aswell, should set the exterior off. In the slow process of redoing my interior with velour covered dash and console, and looking into buying a L67 and building it up so when im on my opens i can throw it straight in.

Just finished converting my S13 to a manual last night :) Wasn't overly bad, worst bit was removing a spigot bushing for the automatic. Only took like 2 days to do that alone...

Still need to wire up the speedo, wire up the reverse lights and find a shift boot, one of these:

is in the mail for me.

If I get my camera back today I might take some pretty snaps of my stock ride-height and ROH wheel-wearing silvs.

How much did the conversion cost you?
Bought the parts required off a guy on nissansilvia.com who was stripping out a written off s13. $800 got me:
-gearbox
-shifter
-tailshaft
-clutch
-clutch pedal
-brake pedal (auto one is like 15cm wider than manual)
-flywheel
-master/slave cylinders
-all the bolts etc

Labor was free (me), needed to buy the interior pieces though, so maybe $930 all together. Was simple enough, plenty of guides out there on the googlesphere.

Box obviously hasn't been babied, but it shifts through alright. Just need to treat it with due care.

Unbelievable difference. The auto box used to auto-shift you down any time you went near about 5k, now I can explore the red end of my tacho more freely :)

Need new suspension so bad though, 20 year old stock bits feel a little bit shit. Would replacing all the rubber bushings etc make the car 'feel' a bit more like a new car as well?
