How did you go afterwards, treatment and effects etc?

I got pretty lucky. It bit me on the toe and one of its fangs hit my toenail so I only got a half dose. I was only about 10yo so things were hidden from me a bit but I'm told the defibrillator was on standby for a while.
Biggest effect was that for a year or two afterwards scratches on that leg tended to get a bit infected. I also had an unexplained vomiting episode a couple of days afterwards (all through a sizzler at my birthday party - oops)

So out night riding at the you yangs and seeing lots of critters. Scorpions, spiders, etc.
Just cruising down my last run on Cressy and almost run over this little guy in the track. He’s actually pretty small. Much smaller than the photo Looks. Maybe a foot long at most.

Yeah - either that or a Whip Snake maybe? They can have that black colouring on their heads too.

After looking at a few images I’m going with the Whip snake.

Whip snakes are nocturnal, browns are not, so there's another nod to it being a Whip.

EDIT: although venomous, Whip Snakes are considered extremely UNlikely to be dangerous to humans, so they're among the nice guys.

4 brownies in the last week and its not even Summer, this one on my ride an hour ago. We had a non-existent Winter, crops are all fucked up North and the snake sightings are plenty, may be a snakey year.

I've seen two in past fortnight. They are on the move.

A brownie up the local and a black on one of the trails leading to the local. Two Ibis were trying to nip its tail which I didn't expect to see.
Here it is, right there... See, here , look there, top right........................
Snake is faster than my camera style.

On the trail next to the railway line, where my missus usually walks the mutt

No big deal, its Australia, they are everywhere. Probably ridden past dozens/hundreds within 5m of the trail.

As long as I dont roll over one or its thrashing on the high side of the trail next to my leg, I'm alright usually seeing one. Yes, still cautious... they bite, could kill and a hit... whether dry or wet will certainly ruin your day
