The Fixie Thread

I spun out way to easy on 38/18. 48/18 is just that little bit to much, going back to 44 or 46.
This is on 28mm tyres too, although I don't think that makes much difference.

halo Fix-G Track Hubs

hi, anyone has broken axles on the halo fix-g track hubs recently? I broke 3 in the last 18 months. trying to figure out if there is something wrong with my set up or problems with materials/built quality of the hubs. thanks, Jacek.

Today I lifted down from the rafters of my shed , my out of fashion , out of date , out of style and out of my mind Fixie .
Dusted it off , spayed some Inox all over it , pumped up the tyres and went for a blast around a local cycle way that follows a river .
Huge amount of fun .
Sometimes it's just nice to revisit past builds and projects .

Looking to buy a super cheap commuter with one gear. I am thinking a flip flop hub in case I can't get my head around the fixie concept.

Anyone know anything about State Bike Co? Looks heavy as fark but otherwise would suit my needs. Looking for something low key enough to not get stolen. Thoughts?

id recommend a cell fixie just as good but and a little cheaper too!

I love my Bombtrack - I've got the Arise rather than this one though. They do have fixies too, but dont think they are under $1K.

Anyone riding fixed with 35 mm plus tyres? What frames are suitable?
My ride to work bike is an older steel Kenevans with 28mm tyres maximum.
I really like the ride of my new 38mm panaracers on the CX, so thinking of upgrade frame/fork. Ideally 700C / 120mm OLN because i have lots of nicely built wheels.
