I hear APEC is a good place to start..
hahaaaa!

Awesome idea though s. Considering doing it but don't have the time really (yes, it's not an excuse!) Perhaps I'll start in the holidays when I'm not just going to school and then doing homework until I go to sleep.

My life is sooo boring... haha.

I'll probably do it a few more times but really this is dipping toes in the pool.
I vote for making a girl cluck like a chicken ... without directly asking her too ... no challenge otherwise ... may want to progress to this level of difficulty.

Hope you don't mind if we randomly add to your physical and mental challenges.

eg, ski backwards ... in the half pipe ... the whole length ... whilst the baggy pants crew are in fully anti-planks mode. For additional points come out of the inevitable conflict with a new baggy pants friend.

i had a list kinda

today - say 'hi how are you?' to breanna... i managed to mumble something along those lines, atleast its an improvment on staying over the other side of the room i guess.

thursday - commit to tuck no hander airs, if that fails (i crash) i have to call someone i dont normaly talk to up on the phone for a chat (i suck incredibly at phone chatting)

friday - go busking

saturday - stay happy all day (this would probly be the hardest as i'm guna be at home, with my mother :s)

thats as far as i got so far, and apperently you need a license to busk so that shut that down, might do the random girl thing, see if i can make a freind

s. so far your doing well! far out i'd love to be in whistler right now~ whats the job opportunities like for a bike mechanic over there?

Cheers. Job ops for bike mechanics - well (assuming you're experienced) if you're here literally right now then you might have a chance, but the reality is the town employs maybe 40 mechanics in total and there are about 500 people here who are qualified and clamouring for those jobs. Got a much better chance of finding a job either for the mountain, or working in retail or something. Chefs always seem to be in demand here.

Mine are pretty much all work related -

1. Today I am organising a departmental discussion group. Hopefully a) people from the department show up and b) I can manage to shut the established academics up and let the postgrads get a word or two in and c) not end up having to organise/buy beer/do everything for it every week.

2. Tomorrow I aim to gelscan my microsatelite loci and send off the last handful of samples for the paper I am currently writing. I need to stop obsessing over the "last few samples" and get it done, rather than perfect.

3. Saturday two girls from work have invited me for a scuba dive. The aim is to not overdo Friday evening drinks, get up early and go diving.

4. Get a ride in this weekend, along with a bit of lab work and some grocery shopping.

Today: Catch up on the blog posts I'm required to do for a couple of subjects at uni and ask a girl to brekky. She gets here early on Wednesdays, hope it's a goer- she was complaining to me last night about why you would ask someone out who is clearly just a mate, hahaha.

#4 - done. Kinda half-finished right now but whatever, I made the effort.

5. Thurs. Get a hug from a girl I don't know. hahah.
6. Fri. Go out sober again after work. Be sociable. Approach at least 2 random girls stone-cold sober.

This is going to continue up til day 30, at which point I will take a break for a week or two.

Wow something moderately interesting and useful on farkin. My long term goal is to actually have friends this year. :)

Not playing every day, but whatever
#1 friday, got 4 hours spare in the middle of the day tomorrow, ask someone in my lecture tomorrow morning to meet up some time in those 4 hrs. not that I'll find that hard at all, but starting easy for now

well... today was a fail, it rained... little hard to do learn new tricks when its raining. so me and my brother went out to tea with a guy we know and his newly wedded wife, it wasnt quite pushing myself but socialising is something i suck at so i guess it counts. got home too late to call anyone.

since busking is out, i am still thinking about tomorros challenge, but i'm thinking i will look up what busking is exactly and see if i can get around it

chears S. probly better to go there just for a holiday, another year

5. Unsuccessful, but I did at least start short conversations with two groups of randoms. Hard to do well when you're in a shit mood cos you've just endured 5 hours of PMS'ing concussed arrogant serial bullshitter at work, but I made some effort at least. Was basically too scared to really commit and open em up fully though.

So it's a day late, but success! Just putting the finishing touches on some uni work, and just called the girl 5 min ago- going to brekky on wednesday!

Also, didn't post this in the thread, but went out last night, didn't drink a drop and talked to girls I didn't know. Had a great night, even got my dfloor on!

  1. Tuesday - Run 5k's in under 22 minutes.
  2. Wednesday - Call someone, that I usually wouldn't do stuff with outside school or a group of friends and go somewhere with them.
  3. Thursday - Do something I've never done before.
  4. Friday - Meet and talk to someone new.
  5. Saturday - Take a girl out somewhere.
  6. Sunday - Catch a train or drive somewhere I have never been and spend the day with there.

That's my list.
Time to make my life more interesting.
Tuesday - Ran It in 21:23 was pretty pleased with that.
Wednesday - Rode the Fixie out to Coogie and Clovelly with a group of people that I wouldnt usually go out somewhere with, went swimming and chilled.
Thursday - Went for a surf at Bondi for the first time. I have lived my whole life in sydney and had never been swimming at Bondi.
Friday - Met a girl that Ive been seeing for a bits mum, she was a nice lady who knew a surprising ammount about cars.

Did this, though I wasn't completely sober cos someone bought me a couple of drinks. End result: blood nose. Same night as someone stole my jacket, definitely one of the best nights out I've ever had.

Was hungover all day Saturday so did absolutely nothing, Sunday was pretty lame too. Monday put myself in the poverty box by convincing myself to buy expensive stuff I don't really need, but at least made the effort to be sociable with some people I didn't really know. Right now I don't think I can maintain daily challenges, so I'm going to remove the time constraints.

So we're up to #8: convince a mate to help me start digging out some of the bike park trails that are currently snowed in.
#9: sell my old bike so I can afford to eat again
#10: Talk to a girl I don't know for more than 10 mins. Simple enough but right now just not energetic enough to aim higher than that.

Brekky went well- we're great mates already so no akward silences. Later that day I told her I was pretty into her...didn't end too well- the words "not ready" were mentioned, but at least she likes me enough to be polite :p Kinda got cut off, so she said she'll call me tonight. Mission: Tell her why I like her. Should be easy enough, adds some kinda weight and may convince her to give me a shot.
