Why is power made in power stations and sent to houses down wires (which apparently is very wasteful)? Wouldnt it be more efficient to send natural gas to houses and then houses produce their own power? Or is there something to do with the scale of making lots of power at once being better? Or would a house-sized gas powered electricity production plant be too expensive?

I go one step further, and use my own digestive system to produce gas. Moorey is a vegan, he can probably produce enough gas to power Ballarat.
