What does your day look like?

Nice!

I'm still tempted to try the Kryptotal FR + Xynotal combo but only once they have a wider case/tread offering for sale.

Krytotal FR Soft Trail
Xynotal Endurance Enduro

Not thinking they are going any wider with the success their sponsored riders have had on the current widths. Pivot, Atherton, YT and others did alright on 2.4's.
2.6 is available in Argotal/Kryptotal combo.

Broke a spoke today on the rear Ibis blackbird wheel, first wheelset in many years that I've ridden but not built myself. Spoke replaced and wheel retensioned but probably should start looking at something like FR541/Comp/350 replacement as they will likely continue to break

On better news, 6-7 rides on the radial Schwalbes and I may have drank the cool aid. They feel different to other tyres from the first few hundred metres, quieter, no pinging, no bounce on roots and the grip is real, though still playing with pressures but have had a few on 26/24 which seems about right and up 3psi from my normal pressures.
We have seen some great tyres challenge King Maxxis in the last couple of years, Continental and now these radial Schwalbes.
The closest feel I have had to these are MaxxGrip DHR2 with standard casing, though the Maxxis was all about soft knobs, this is casing and knobs.

I took off a set of a set of 80% Conti DH casing Argotal soft/supersoft which are loose tyres, these Alberts are soft/supersoft in gravity pro (so same level casing) but they are aimed more at hardpack than loose-wet.

Depending on the wear of these as I have had lots of experience with Schwalbe premature wear and knobs falling off vs the Conti's sensational even wear and longevity... may take a look at the radial Shredda/Magic Mary when the summer disappears if these hold up ok.

Is that Craigiburn? Been a while since I've been out there, good fun.

I don't mean physical width, I mean wider as in choice (a wider range).

They can't even get a good supply going of what they have already.

Yes, the trail leading down from the trailhead here (Sidewinder) had a revamp a few months back, now has about 10-12 jumps. They done a great job on it.
Both CB and the Gorge are awesome trails, I looped the gorge yesterday, so nice.

About 40cm of snow at the door this morning and it is still snowing.

That was pretty epic. Probably the second best day on snow this season. Hit a bunch of steep tree lines, dropped a few boppers, and didn't get hurt.

Best day this season (doubt it will be beaten) was a few days ago riding with one of my local mates for his 76th birthday. The dude is a legend! Every year starts the same "I'm getting a bit slower with age...let's not ride the moguls or the trees because of my knees...follow me." His nickname is rocketto. We smashed groomers, sprayed jerrys, threw snowballs, talked shit, and even the birthday boy got some air time. He is still fast and hard to keep up with on an open run. Later that night was sake and dinner at his friends bar. One of my guests made rocketto laugh so hard he cried with a story about a kidney stone. It's going to take a lot of pow to beat that day.

That 36.4mm was at the weather station 6kms away.

We got 65mm in less than an hour. Just spent the late arvo and evening cleaning up after our block had a river running through the backyard and into the pergola where there was a confluence with the river that was running through our garage and into the pergola.

What the heck is a squall warning!! I'm familiar with the other two.

Amusingly, we're in the middle of a low level heatwave whilst visiting the south coast of NSW from western NSW. And it's quite lovely and cool but it'd be nice if the wind fucks off.

Was starting to get a bit worried about the possibility of spotfires everywhere given the endless lightning (and that it's been a mini-heatwave and windy af of late) but then we got 14mm overnight so with any luck that should take the edge off. 65mm in less than an hour around here would probably have every street flooded to the doormats.

Our court was like a river.

I was adding to it by sweeping as much water as I could away from the garage

A new experience! My boots froze. This was not the coldest day I have ever had on snow, just a casual -10 or so ambient, but they froze solid. While it wasn't the most comfortable experience the added stiffness was very noticeable ripping deep pow turns in the trees.
