That STP2 is the exact same one I have. I agree that it looks shit, but I don't see how it's unreliable and weak?
The only thing that I've found bad about the actual bike, is the parts it came with. They've basically all broken, which is what you get when you purchase the entry level bike of the 3 or 4 they brought out that year.
But the weak bit is basically a lie, seeing as I absolutely thrash mine and it's 3 years old. I use it for downhill still and it's working fine!
