Well not necessarily. I'm suggesting a Reign because you can ride it back up the hill. By wanting something light i can make the assumption that he isn't looking for a serious downhill bike. A Reign X is the perfect compromise. But then again you could be right, could be too much abuse.

The current CoilAir isn't a slopestyle bike, but more a AM bike. The 2007 model and below are more Freeride oriented though and are still made for pedaling back up the hill. I would recomend a 2007 model over a 2008 if you were getting a CoilAir and intend on using it for freeride and downhill...

Yeah I'm not completely sure of the retail, but i think they're around $880ish. I got a quote from a website for $740 with free postage. Which is pretty great and I'm saving money because of the integrated headset!:)
