What did you do TO / WITH / FOR your bike today!

Fitted my $12 guide and made a nipple driver for the new wheel build.
Was it as pretty in the flesh as on the website?

Took my bike for a ride, the NS. Was hitting the rocky approach to one of my favourite jumps and felt a harsh hit. Ride started feeling all wierd...front wheel not tracking, harsh bottom out. Took a few jumps to figure out the forks were jamming. Hopefully not too much of an issue. Spent some time clearing off debris from trails.

$12 well spent. Next build I'll no doubt be posting "who remembers where those cheap top+bottom guides were coming from?" as the price is too hard to resist.

Rode some Mawson’s trail at Flinders Ranges today. Sorta got lost a bit. Knew the way back to camp, but whatever we were on was sweet, with some knarly ravines and some nice flowy bits. Just rode an hour out and then headed back. Today will be our last real ride this trip, as alas home is calling, but we’ll be back for sure. I’ve been here a few times, over three decades ago, and it is still beautiful.

Rode with mine on the weekend. No dropped chains this time compared to last week. Nice and subtle too.
Giving mine a run on Sunday. Had to get some M6 bolts as it shipped with M5. Works with my oval ring but....

Yeh I said the same think about the bolts in the other thread we talked about it on. Not sure if it will like the oval ring so let us know how it goes.

To add to that, Mill Creek is pretty awesome. Lots of flowing fun bits, sandstone rolloffs and a go the gnar double jump. Just an entertaining place to mess around on bikes.

On the downside, it works you hard and quite a bit of pedaling up short pinch climbs. Good to have a tour guide that knows the trails too.

Hurts. Requires Money. And is nerdy.

Theres alot pf trail packed into a small area at mill creek, pretty awesome. Black hawk down is one of my favourite trails, and the start run down into the creek from were you took that photo.

Saw my sport injury specialist who assured me again the labral tear repair is still all good and the tendon issues are still on the mend slowly. Looking good for a continued and slow return to proper riding!

Which I will then fuck up by jamming it into an economy seat for 24 hours and not ride for a month...

I did Black Hawk down twice today.
It is a bunch of fun and pretty fast if you let it roll. Lots of sandstone that could make a mess of you if you have an off at speed. The climbs that always seem to be close to a ledge or cliff takes a bit of getting used to. The distance is pretty short overall but still feel buggered at the end.

Quite a few punters out on a school day too.

Great place but I may or may not sneak off to Loftus next week.

Rode Mt Macedon for the first time today with some champions. Some steep and loose fun to be had in those sweet pines. Some trails were ridiculously slick but we found some that had some grip and had a ball.

2.6 rekon I had on the rear of the rune kept clogging with shit and locking up the rear wheel. Luckily I brought the sb66 as I was woried about clearance in the wet.

Backed off the compression on the shock a bit and the bike totally slayed, still prefer the rune but really happy with the yeti. Vengeance is a solid performer too.

Ordered a 2.4 dhr2for the rear of the rune so I can continue to ride it through winter without the same issue.

Only downer was getting stung $15 for a pint at the local pub

After a very rare but rugged Friday evening with some beverages, I could only manage a pitiful single lap at Wylde early this morning.

Note there is quite a bit of Hazard Reduction burning being done at places that you might want to go to.

I know it needs to be done but I also feel for the folks that move from the big smoke to get away from pollution and get closer to nature. Then the big smoke comes to visit.

Sigh.... Will probably take the roadie out instead.

Rode Mt Macedon for the first time today...
Have they started logging up there yet? Love Mt Macedon, but last time I was up there there was notices along the main road saying they were planning to start logging the pine forest (I didn't fancy the chances of the trails surviving that process, and haven't had time for a trip up to see what's happened so far...)

Notices are still up but they haven't started logging yet. There were a heap of people out there riding which was great!
