Its still not open big signs up and red safety mesh across the track. What making it worse is that people are still riding it.While its going though all its check from all that need to check it.Would be great if everyone did not ride it.Been told there a bloke up there taking pic of riders as they come out the bottom that can be used latter if your caught by a ranger.

It shits me to no end to hear this. So many of us are waiting patiently (well our own personal versions of "Patiently" anyway) and these farkin tools are trying to have it shut before it's even open!!

Council have advised the track is good to ride now. Its not technically "officially open" but its not illegal to ride, as all signage and other criteria have been met.

Be good to have some tyre tracks down the trail to show lines and how people are riding it as IMBA will be having look at it with regards to looking at any possible improvements, maintenance requirements etc.

There will be an official opening soon with all the bells and whistles and also the ceremonial "Kingy Style" BMORC BBQ.

Knapsack DH Volunteer Maintenance day

Knapsack DH Volunteer Maintenance day - Saturday 27th September

When: Saturday, 27 September, 2014 - 08:00
Start time: 8am, please try to arrive at least 15mins early.
Duration: 4 hours
Meeting Point: Lovers walk Firetrail Gate, get onto Barnet St and head north uphill, the gate and parking is just past the 'S' bend.

Official Meeting Location is the intersection of the DH trail and Lovers Walk. Parking is still outside the gate so be prepared to carry your tools to the meeting spot.

The day will focus on the DH trail.

Blue Mountains City Council have hired Adrian from Synergy to lead the Maintenance day.

Trail maintenance will only run for 4hrs. To get the most out of it, please arrive early and be ready to start.

Council needs to know a week in advance the number of Volunteers that will be coming. With a bigger turn out, council will hire more staff for the day, that includes Synergy staff. If the number is too small they will can it.

Nice job fellas! Which section got the upgrade?
After the 4 rollers/jumps just when the trail first starts heading down hill steeper. This was previously lots of eroded roots and a few rocks. Its probably a bit easier now but I think part of Synergy's plan to make things here go a bit faster, I guess giving more speed for the next section which does lack some gradient?

The one thing the track needs more than anything else is a start ramp. Can we put that on the agenda for the next build day?

Otherwise the DH track is running pretty much perfect at the moment.
