You do seem like the kinda guy that's into thumb grips/shifting. Are they Odi 29" lock-ons?I think these would be best suited.

Well they're 14.5" per side so they equal 29" but these are similar to odi lock ons, these are orgi strap ons.You do seem like the kinda guy that's into thumb grips/shifting. Are they Odi 29" lock-ons?
Is a special license required!?Well they're 14.5" per side so they equal 29" but these are similar to odi lock ons, these are orgi strap ons.
Have you see there new line of extra extra extra chunky? These's some quality reading hiding in amongst this thread. op2:
+1 for ESI Chunky grips (mind you they aren't lockon)
Nope just a nice firm grip, so maybe a pen license would be ideal. We all got one of those back in school. Is a special license required!?
26, 27 or 29? ;-)Basically new i took them off the anthem after 2 rides

Thanks T-Rex, appreciate the advice.Funny thread!
For the OP, here's a serious contribution:
The House of Rex exclusively uses ODI for all disciplines, have done for years. We particularly like the Troy Lee pattern. ODI have two clamps, so if they are done up properly don't get the "throttle effect" ie grips spinning on the bars, and they are easy to get on and off when you are doing maintenance on anything attached to the bars.
If you are going for ODI, it's a good idea to lightly grease the threads of the locking bolts, they tend to corrode into place over time.
Those Giant grips that Camo is offering are truly horrible, I've also got an unused set I immediately removed from my most recent Giant purchase. You can have mine as well if you want.
