Online retailers trusted/scammers

Somebody on here recently had a similar experience. Can't remember who or how it resolved now. If you search back through this thread it's probably there.

FWIW I bought an Ibis Ripley from them years ago and they were fine, but I get the impression they hold no/minimal stock so there are long delays after ordering.
Thanks. I just did and it appears that once a threat was made about going to the ACCC, they came through with a refund.

All I can say to would be shoppers out there, based on my experience, DO NOT use Biggride (https://biggride.com.au). Happy to take your money, but then don't send the order or answer phone calls or emails. They currently owe me $278.94.

Update: I've just escalated my issue with PayPal and will await their outcome. Pending that will be to lodge a case with NSW Consumer Affairs.

I bought a frame off them late last year and it took a few months as they didnt have it in stock and then neither did the supplier. Communication wasn't great but they did respond to emails at the time. I got the feeling that it was a business being run part time. I was happy to wait as the price was good on the frame, but I probably wouldn't order from them again.

Too many Burners have had a problem with those fuckwits.

@Dene Dweller last time I had a problem with a bike business, I called consumer affairs VIC ( and was given a case #), and they rang the business in question. (not bigride)
I have had good resolutions doing this. Paypal are generally pretty good about this sort of thing too.

Has anyone used Rushys.com.au recently?

I see they have a retail shop front and generally good mentions in various parts of the interwebz, but they are older posts.

They responded quickly to my queries and I just want to be sure before handing over a bunch of cash for something which is not expected to arrive for a month or two.

Cheers.

I have had nothing but good things to say about them, although not super recent

Update:
Timing seems to coincide with my escalation via PayPal this morning. I've finally had email communication from Biggride (it's a miracle!). The product was not in stock nor does the supplier have any in stock, therefore the order has been cancelled and a refund is pending.

If they were transparent on the website regarding their inventory levels, I would have never ordered from them in the first place. I recommend that prospective buyers steer well clear of Biggride, I will never be shopping there again. It's been a long time but I have a new entry on my shopping black list.

Rushys as in the Banshee dealer? They're legit and good to deal with. I've only bought small parts from them though.

+1. I bought a Banshee frame from them in 2023. Communication was good and prompt. haven't had any issues requiring warranty or whatever.
Dealt with Leon.

I bought a Banshee frame from Ciaron at the start of 23. He was good with communication. The only downside I can think of was he sent me a the frame packed in an odd shape to save on postage so I didn't get the flash banshee box rock up at the door.

Gees MTBD have gone to shit, particularly in the customer service department. Tried putting an order in for a new tyre and tried bumping up to free postage by adding some sundries. Wouldn't tick over so took the hit on postage for just the tyre and followed up today (ordered last night). Sent order number through and explained the issue, they respond with "your order was less than the free postage amount"

I suspect I won't get a proper answer, miss the old days with them.

anythign that couldn't have been posted thru Auspost?

Orders over $99: We offer free shipping for orders over $99, however, this excludes orders containing heavy/bulky products and/or dangerous goods. Orders that can't be shipped via Australia Post are excluded.

Even that is a more helpful response, but no it was all small items. I did try some lube that wasn't squirt, maybe that was it, but I was out of ideas and it was late.

hmm, maybe some stuff went out of stock or? i dunno :p

My first thought was that the tyre was considered bulky or heavy, but last time I bought a couple of tyres it came under free shipping. Weird and annoying.
