Looks like a chainstay protector? I've never seen one on a fork before.

Methinks someone has no idea what the bike is, so just looked up the most recent description! It's definitely NOT 27.5 and not a 63 deg HA on the older bikes

The Ti spring, CSixx chain guide and Saints says that someone paid attention to the build once though.
