Today I have the day of school due to sickness, so I might get down the hardware store and get some paint stripper and give the bike a whole do over. Maybe take it apart and get it running well again.

When I get new tyres I'll see what we can do. I can't give you a time as to when this will happen though.

I also agree with Harry about the seat issue.
AItken pivotal (or rail if you want to keep it legit) is a great option.
