the spacing for a front bmx hub is the same as a front quick release hub, 100mm. hence the reason a front quick release hub can be replaced with a bmx hub. i have seen some people years ago running quick release wheels on their cruiser, 24", race bikes. they had the quick release taped to the forks so it couldnt be undone unintentionally. but i dont like running quick release wheels on my mtb so i dont know why someone would like to run them on a bmx?

for weight reasons Redline used to ( not sure if still do) had a skewer not qr on their bikes junior size and under.

Norco also did a disc wheel when LM17 was with them.
