You can get a problem solvers adapter to run a sham 11x trigger with shimano brakes.
I got an adapter for XT brakes / sram xx1 shifter from Trickstuff.com
Works well, will get some pics up soon.

I've heard the problem solvers doesn't put the combo in a great position

So Close

Howdy,
my 29er is so close to being finished, just waiting on the spokes. I am sure it's going to be rad. In the mean time all I can do is post about it. Ended up having to hurry the build along due to cracking the frame on my Zaskar. Hopefully in 32 hours or so it will be rolling.

This is my new beast. 2012 Carve Pro. Upgraded from a 26" 06 Specialised FSR XC.

Picked it up second hand from someone who had ridden it about 10 times for an absolute bargain

All stock apart from the an e-13 bash guard in place of big ring and Thompson stem. Two rides in and 29rs rock!:heh:

Are you happy with the Shifter placement? I am using gripshift on my 11sp XTR, but would like to go to a trigger and the only one that would work is the bar mount like yours. I am worried I will struggle to get it into the right position.

Also, be careful of the clamping force you use on those haven bars. I have seen one with some serious creasing and indentation from brake/shifter clamps.
I'm happy with the bar mounts and thanks for the heads up on torque settings. I know what you are on about, I've been running carbon components for a few years and I keep an eye on that as well.
I like having the shifter & brake Independant as I can fine tune them

that headland reminds me of Taylors Mistake on the outskirts of Christchurch which has a trail called the Annaconda that snakes from the top to the bottom.

Evil "the following" http://www.pinkbike.com/news/first-look-evil-bikes-the-following-2015.html

For mine these are thetypes of bikes that are the ultimate "one bike" option. Won't make you want to kill yourself on a 100km epic day ride and more than capable of putting in a decent time on a 3min downhill run
agree with you mate

common elements to most of these bikes
short chain stays
slacker HA

10 to 20mm more travel up front than rear
longer reach- front centre
longer ETT so as to run short stem / wide bars and inline dropper

Finally got around to taking some proper pics of the GT, done 90kms on it now and it's super fun. Very quick steering and climbs like nothing else I have ridden. The Light Bicycle Carbon rims feel very nice, will be interesting to see how they hold up over time. Build was done by Paul at Astroboyracer.

Looks great mate. I see you went the twist grip option. Any reasons for this? How do you like it? Do you think it gives smoother changes? I thought about these, because it would give you the option to change from 1 to 10 in one smooth motion.

Thanks, yeah I went for it as a bit of an experiment as I had a go on some one elses and loved it. Also like the way it cleans up the cockpit. Really crisp changes and I find it easier to go up and down a bunch of gears at the same time. Saves a bit of weight as well. Don't think I would go back to trigger now. I am not sure why more people are not running twist grips.
