Scott 24 roll call

I just took the old diamondback 2:1 SS for a wee spin for the first time in ages, at Lysterfield today, and I must say it was a lot of fun and rather quick too.

I think I might be taking two bikes to the Scont... You dont have to use the same bike for each lap do you?

I don't know if this has been already mentioned by anyone, but lists of teams and competitors are up here
http://www.scott24hr.com.au/race_entries.html

It says there are 808 riders/teams on track at any time, it is going to make for a hectic start. I am glad i have already convinced my team mate to take that role :) .

Cheers,

Karl (Scott rider no. #3044)

13 solo single speeders! That is huge.
There's a least 3 of us that wont present much of a problem for you. How do you think you'll go this year Positron - looks like a very tough field. I reckon that the winner will have to do a couple more laps than last year to take the win.

Yeah going to be interesting. The winner will have to push out 18-19 laps (~350km) I am thinking. Going to be a tough race. I have support all sorted this year unlike last year, so I can spend more time riding.

Been doing 400-600km weeks for the last 10 months on the fixie. The fitness is there, just have to stick to the game plan.

Patrick Jones will be the man to keep an eye on early on. The race starts at 3am though :D

Yes but with the kms you crank out you should be up there with Positron, Jones, Stevo & Brad.
I'm truly not worthy of having my name muttered in the company of those well 'ard men, for I am soft as marshmallow...mmm marshmallow:D

Andrew Cassie will not be a contendor, as he still has AC joint problems and he stated today, that he will be a Social Solo Single Speeder!

Not a custom title.
Precious Princesses are Go for the big race.

Pink satin skirt (and pink satin skirt wearer) have survived 2 shakedown laps of the course last weekend, 80% of helmet tulle has been sewn, tiaras are good to go...

Nothing can stop us now except regulations banning bad taste.

Geting awful close now folks...

"Nah can't go riding, I just thought I'd come down to say hi..."

a couple of nurofen and 1000m's of vertical later...

...That man is a special breed of human, Gonadis Grandous

Alas I'm not riding again this year but I will most certainly be there.

Working in the SIC tent all weekend, someone has to keep all your bikes going, and drink all the beer.:)
Seriously though I hope all you guys are going to make my life easy and prep your bikes for the race, I'm terribly lazy. See you all down there.

No I'm not

True, thanx to sum cont who put a log across one of the jumps on the Jerra XC circuit (Map here: http://tinyurl.com/omu5l) 3 weeks ago. Not much pain, but now but I have this extra lump in my shoulder.

So, I'm aiming to socialise during the day with a couple of laps, beers in between, a couple at night, and then more socialising in the morning with maybe a couple more slow laps. I'll also be on a rigid and that track (rode it nice and slowly tonight - http://tinyurl.com/msjga) will leave you with a bum like someone who's had a big night out on Oxford St.

So who'll win the SS Championship of the Galaxy? Watch Patrick Jones & Tristan Bennet again, and I'll give you a dark horse now - Ty Domin! Last year he was a State Open Road Race Champion (Yeah, OK, NT, but still) And he's Army so I have to back him!

Oh yeah and the Black Monkey, Rob Parberrrrrrrrry

I just got a last minute call to join a team of 4. Heading down tomorrow morning. Looks like it's shaping up to be a great weekend. Love that moving map of the course zifchik. The track seems a similar length to last year - just under 20km.
