A couple of weeks back I was lucky enough to see two male Red Bellies fighting. Breeding season is upon us.

I feel like 23-28 is the perfect temp for danger noodles just noodling about on the trail.New fear unlocked. Most of my rides are early morn. Forecast for a hot one today 39 and was 26 this morn so did an hour loop.
Cruising single track in my own world then that’s a weird looking piece of bark. Hang on. That’s a snake. 6am in the morn. Lucky he was on the side of the trail but that woke me up.
I think 18-24 deg Celcius is their preferred temp range. Some don't mind cooler (copperheads) and most will retreat to somewhere cool when it's hotter (including into people's homes)I feel like 23-28 is the perfect temp for danger noodles just noodling about on the trail.
I'm always more vigilante on those kind of days than 30+ days
Yeah but 6am - danger noodles should be tucked up in bed not scaring the bejesus out of me.I feel like 23-28 is the perfect temp for danger noodles just noodling about on the trail.

Have see a few around on super hot days. We have bush land across the road and coming home mid arvo a big brown was on the road and slithered off as I drove near would have been at least 35 plus.
Red bellied black you say?View attachment 414767 Look who I just wandered past obliviously the other day. Young red belly. The Lad was just behind me and saw it and stopped. He and M'lady spent a few minutes trying to convince it that it should just...leave. It eventually decided that being a petulant teenager probably wasn't that cool after all...
Okay...that's glorious. I honestly think snakes are fantastic and the only dodgy encounters I've had with them over the years are ones I created...not the snake.Red bellied black you say?
