You definitely get sick in VR. Your brain thinks you're moving when you're not. Bit like looking at your phone when you're in the car instead of looking at the road ahead.

I'd have to agree. I've only had a go of one of those shopping centre VR thingys and it doesn't take long till you feel immersed even with cluncky graphics.

Still needs more time but the PS6 and XboxThree will rock with VR more mature in multiplayer shooters. It will be a hoot...

Ha, so the answer is to spend a whole lot more money, and combine VR with something like this!

Spending more money is ALWAYS the solution.

I have tried a fully moving rig before (in Harrods store London). It was worth $50k and I thought why not just buy a beat up wrx and enjoy that instead. Anyway yeah it does fix the dizzyness problem. But Like I said the dizzyness only seems to happen in racing sims of movement stuff where you expect to experience g force. FPS, and other stuff was fine.

Hmmm, I've never had any sort of side effects from VR. I'd imagine getting sick from it would suck balls. :/

I've never been able to get a defib kill in bf4 on my Xbox one account. Today I got 4 in the space of 8 seconds and do you think the gameclip caught it all? 19 second clip and only got the first 2..... it's a struggle sometimes.

...bf4 on my Xbox...
I don't understand how people play FPS games with a controller. I do understand the cost benefits vs PC though!

There's something about a massive graphics card that gets me juicing. I was swapping out my old Titan to put into a dedicated VR box so I can move all the shit into a more VR friendly zone of the house. I didn't expect the 1080ti to be so much bigger than the Titan! It's like they get bigger and bigger every generation (after market coolers anyway) but then .. they don't at the same time because my case doens't get bigger (I'll have my TJ07 forever!).

I dug up my original 8800GTX out of curiosity that cost me about $1k back in 2007-ish. I thought that it was the biggest badest thing EVER at the time. How funny.

After switching to consoles in 2012, I still dont get how to play FPS on consoles either! I guess for games like Skyrim and Fallout its fine (single player RPGs), but I found Doom really hard with the controller (sooo fast and twitchy).

I've still got my original 3dfx diamond monster 1 - 4mb GPU complete with pass through cable! Used to crank the Quake 1 with that beast (and I think even the early days of CS (beta 0.4?) ca. 1999).

I really want to build another PC, because I love the process of scoping out parts, lining up in MSY, coming home with a box of stuff and spending the day setting it up. Just need to come up with a use for it...

That is the problem, all of that horsepower for a Word document would be depressing :yuck: I've loved PC gaming but couldn't be that arsed now. Console is easier overall and the upgrade cycle is less.

I rekon it's a false economy. Console lasts just as long and after that it becomes your workhorse PC/HTPC, porn comp whatever. Console just goes to waste and the peripherals with it. I have a PS3 sitting here and no idea what to do with it. The last PC I had no more use for was good at being a heater (260W GTX260 lol)

True, I have an original Xbox running CoinOps Gold which is pretty slick. Will keep it for some time until until on the power supply capacitors goes puff. I hate to know that working things can end up as landfill, but the perpetual tech upgrades sure make it difficult. I guess you have to install Linux on the PC and gift it to the PC recycling folks ?

I think the line is getting blurred more with the current generation of consoles. Xbox 360 was terrible media player, so my 2009 MBP was our media player until I got the Xbox one last year. Even my partner (loud critic of video games) is happy to use the xbox one for netflix, youtube, iview etc. as well as FTA TV.

Now that MBP and the Xbox 360 are just in the cupboard doing nothing. Along with my NES haha

Regarding the FPS on consoles thing, I have my sensitivity up rather high, so it's still as twitchy as the PC. I do play on both though, but lately I just haven't had the time to game, which is actually really depressing.

When Destiny 2 is released I'll probably play that, and I wanted to get Halo Wars 2, but couldn't afford it at the time, still can't if I'm honest lol.

I'm up for D2 on the ps4 when it arrives. I'll wait a while till it improves since I'll bet it will need some fixing somewhere.

Still do D1 on the 360 now. Good fun but damned if I'll be able to complete those coop missions.

That's it' I'm buying this now :). System requirements look a little thirsty for me though.
Yesssss it's a bloody amazing game, I was just in a game then. Got into the top 5 and then a guy somehow rushed into the building and dropped me in a second using a vector :(. Fair to say I was pretty pissed off.

I caved in easily and got Destiny 2 on the ps4. It is a beautiful piece of work and fun so far. The attention to detail is well done.

My old 360 profile can't be imported so I've started from scratch.

If any of you geekers get on it, my PSN ID is LooseKnob.

I have D2, but yet to sick it in the ps4 yet. Having some sort of stressed out moment, GF went and got it for me on friday after I refused to get it. I think because I love the original game so much (must have 10,000,000,000,000000000000000000 hours playing it) and I like the original the most, and ever subsequent expansion less and less, so a whole new game...

I think you will enjoy D2. Just be prepared to start again. The cabal need a kicking. I'll meet you at the farm one day.
