Biocentric I torque setting?

I was a tad worried about my EBB bolt rounding out. The 6mm allen key felt sloppy in the head. So I went down to the bolt/fastener specialist with my Niner EBB bolt in hand.

They happily sold me 2 replacement bolts (for $1.30) which are exactly the same, but, have a higher tensile strength.

Upon refitting my EBB, I once again cleaned it up, re-Oatey'd it and installed it. I torqued my bolt up to 25 newton meters & hoped that it would stay put.

Well, it hasn't. I only weigh 72kg (159 lbs) and certainly don't generated prodigious power! But it slipped again... sigh. I have ordered a Biocentric II, hopefully this will sort out my issues.

How much torque do you use on your Biocentric I?

(in the photo, you'll see a small red sticker next to where the white marker was. After a 25km MTB ride, it's slipped this far)

I'M PLEADING for some competition here folks. Come on fellas, only $35 to enter, with the chance to kick my arse and walk away with $200. How can you pass up that chance? You can't lose!*

(*Disclaimer...winning not guaranteed) but you may still be in front financially!

I wanted to go over for that race but my SS frame had other thoughts!

Anyone dealt with the Big S for warranty replacements lately?

Shit, such a pretty frame too. Warranty is supposed to be good. You might get a carbon stumpy ss frame.

from what i've seen warranty replacement wise on these forums, it's not a far fetched idea... plenty of happy campers with newer/better frames returned from speccy.

As much as I like those older stumpys, I have a nice feeling about the strength of my Carve frame. Sure, it's heavier, but more durable. New Crave frame is over 200g lighter though (says the bloke who's just put some 850-900+g tyres on his).

I took a big chunk out my drive side chainstay when my chainring ate it after I put the EBB in backwards and the square taper bb drove itself through the EBB. Still holding strong.

Anyone have a 18" singlespeed MTB frame. Keen for something with horizontal drop outs and 26" wheel sizing.
