What T.V Series to watch whilst waiting for Walking Dead to resume?

Started watching 'Vikings' on FoxTel. Only seen the first ep, but it doesn't look too bad so far. Apparently it's been on SBS for ages? Anyone got some feedback on it? It's no Walking Dead, but should fill the massive void till the new year.

Deadwood. Just be prepared to rage like a motherfucker when it dawns on you that it was never meant to end after season 3.
I cannot forgive HBO that; I know they came through and at least made season 5 of The Wire, but it's almost not enough.

It still hurts to this day.

Absolutely loving Marvel's Agents of Shield. It's a load of hack-sci-fi comic book bollocks that started off terribly and took 16 episodes to get mildly interesting but now I'm hooked on it!

Yeah Vikings is great, just waiting for the next season, bit low budget to some of the other shows around but still good viewing.

Yeah I was shattered and there was and is so much rage on the interwebz about this, such a great show and for it to finish like it did and when it did was tragic, I just wonder if I was aired these days if it would go for longer????

It has no reason to be as good as it is - I thought it'd last a season and that's it. But they made it work. Hoping they continue to do so, since it's pretty enjoyable. And because Adrianne Palicki.

RIP Al fucking Swearengen.

Banshee.

Jesus h Christ. That show should be called "What The Fuck?" The premise is a master criminal winds up stealing the identity and job of a small town sherriff. What it actually involves is the most insanely violent NSFW over-the-top insanity ever to be filmed. It's got more 'fucks' than Deadwood, more tits than Game of Thrones , and more wincingly gruesome acts of violence than the Walking Dead and Hannibal put together.
Fuck Shakespeare, this is what you get when you put a 1000 monkeys in a room with 1000 typewriters!

Admittedly the first season is pretty schlocky but in season 2 it starts to show a bit of hidden class and by season 3 it transforms into a work of jaw-dropping magnificence!

Rectify was worth the time. A bit slow but gets you hooked.

Justified was also enjoyable. Watched on the basis of his performance in Deadwood (where's my season 4 muthafuckers... :argue: )

House of Cards season 3 lacked the punch of the first two... Shame.

For the nerds, The Guild is good fun.

I've got withdrawal symptoms already. 42 weeks is a long wait for the next episode.

I could maybe get by if other shows started taking notes and banshee-ed up themselves. Certainly Mad Men would be a lot better if every dispute was solved with a bloody fight to the death that makes Game of Thrones' melees look like 60's Batman fisticuffs

Is banshee meant to be good in the same ironic way that say, "the Room" is good? Because I'm 4 episodes in now and I'm not sure whether to just do the sane thing and stop, or give it one more episode and risk dying of an aneurism brought on by its sheer shitness.

If you're not liking Bsnshee by episode 4 I say pack it in. That was the episode that hooked me. The second and third series do improve but it's a bit of a slog if you're not enjoying it.

The first half of S1 is good, in the "gawd, I hope my wife doesn't wake up and catch me watching Ukrainian software porn on SBS at 2am" kind of way.....

Its nothing like 'The Room'. A better comparison would be movies like Shoot'Em Up, Face-Off, The Raid 2 or John Wick

Season 1 is a bit of a slog. It starts to kick into gear in season two (Ep 5 was my 'road to Damascus' moment for it) . The story and characters get no less ridiculous -although there is a fair bit of character development and a really subtle subtext about the growing effect of all this violence on the characters- however it's the direction and cinematography that really takes off around this time with some amazing set-pieces that wouldn't look out of place in a good Hollywood action film which is pretty awesome for a low budget cable show.
The dialogue also improves a bit with plenty of zingers between the gay hacker and the old black barman and the introduction of a few more characters.

Currently digging on Daredevil, probably the only thing on Aussie Netflix worth the subscription at the moment. Plus it's a Ben Affleck chin, free zone, plus has Rosario Dawson, plus the hot ranger chick that made sitting through True Blood with the missus bareable.

T'was a bit cheesey to begin with, but kicks into adult gear by episode 4 with people actually dying and he.........sopiler alert!.....................................

being removed, rather graphically, by Chevy Escalade doors.

Daredevil was pretty ace. If only Marvel could put that much character into their bad guys in the movies.

I'm looking forward to seeing how it all ties in with the other Marvel franchises that Netflix own.
