All my Aliexpress MTB purchases reviewed.

Wow I'd take that for fiddy bucks! Solid buying!

Yeah, I bought a set too...

On unrelated bicycle news, two sets of car wipers are due for replacement, it's getting dangerous. Instead of paying $150 for them, going to give these a try:

The guy at Project Farm did a review on types of blades and this type came out on top, I have a set on a car bought locally and they work well.
Cheers keep us in the loop as the local ones aren't cheap.

These turned up today (165mm, 24mm spindle).

Just found this amazing item on AliExpress. Check it out!
AU$54.69 50%OFF | SENICX MTB Mountain Bike Crankset Bicycle Crank 165mm 170mm 175mm Aluminum Alloy crank

The 155mm kids cranks I've been running have worked admirably, but I think they are a tad too short for me.

Put the 165 senicx on tonight and going for a pedal tomorrow. Will be interesting to see how they go/feel after the 155's.

Definitely a bit more meat on them compared to the 155mm ones.

I've been running this set for a while now as I wanted to try 165mm and finding not ridiculous money Shimano cranks in 165 was getting impossible. I'd originally planned to leave them on while deciding if going from 175 to 165 would work for me, then replace them if the answer was yes. Turns out not only do I like the length, but these have been solid and I see no reason to put a brand name crank on there for now. They also have a bonus of using the GXP chainring "standard", the Shimano DM seems fine, but a lot harder to find off-brand chainring options for it.

Another one here keen to know how it goes. My OEM ones were total shit, Mitsubishi must have used wood on the Pajero Sports in 2021. I replaced with Tridon blade inserts for about $20, which were much better, but after 12 months were getting bit crap, and now after 18 months they're streaking a lot.

I give my blades a wipe at least once a fortnight, and on my last vehicle (VW Golf), the wipers lasted the entire 5yr lease of the vehicle. Being German, I assume they were Bosch manufactured, so I was about to splurge on the Bosch Aerotwin sets ($60 total), but hey, if these can do the same for less than $15, then that's a huge win...

Hmmm, gonna take a few months at least to work that one out though ;)

I bought new bosch wiper blades and it took me a whole day to get them to work properly. The only thing that would stop them from shuddering was to spray a bit of silicone on them, then they started to streak for a while until they came good. Almost put the old ones back on after that effort.

They arrived 3 weeks early, that's a pleasant change. Basically look identical to the trident ones at supercheap (or maybe bosch). I chucked them on and we had some light rain. Seems to do the job. I guess time will tell, but I don't think there is that much complexity to these things, they have been around for ages. Even if they last half as long as the expensive stuff, it's a quarter of the price!

Did the front wiper sets for two cars for $20. Hard to beat.

That's great news! That will be plan B, if plan A falls over tomorrow. I've heard from an online source that a particular SuperCheap is doing in store deals on the Bosch BBA sets for $18...

Has anyone tried something like this?

Death trap?

Nice find! Pity it's just too short for my needs (well, wants really), which is a Carbon, Boost Fork with around 500A2C and mounts. There are a few 500-ish boost forks about, but none with mounts so far.

As for death trap? Who knows! But, I've been running a Chinese carbon fork for almost a decade now, on and off a few bikes. Granted, it was an Ali fork, but this was waaaay before Ali was a thing really. It was bought from a "reputable" manufacturer at the time, XMI Play, in the early 2010s. Has done a few thousand KM of commuting & mountain biking and has been solid. I'm only reallylkooking to replace it to gain a bit of extra A2C and Boost, to fit with the rest of the shed.

All of that to say, I reckon you'll prob be fine. It's also on my list as at 490A2C and Boost, with Mounts, it's the closest I've found so far to my "perfect" (Ali) fork.

Of course the Perfect Fork, is either the Whiskey #9 or upcoming Seido Taza fork, but they'll be a bit more extra on top :O

I've found the Bar's Bugs Windscreen Cleaner makes them last longer, used to use it on a commercial level, and even clients used to comment on it.

Purchased the chromag dagga copy and title stem copy. Pedals weigh 495g (oem is 494). Differences from the original is the pins on the Aliexpress is smooth and original are threaded. Will post an update in the future if it’s still in one piece.

So, I reached out to one of the sellers for some more info, as the Eyelet version is out of stock. Apparently back in stock in about a month or so.

I also asked about the eyelet limit, it's 3.5kg per side, which is pretty good. Not class leading by any stretch, but enough for some Any Cage brackets and to load with some light stuff.

Definitely on my hit list now!

That stuff costs as much as one wiper lols. I'll give it a go. Had them for a week now in pretty heavy rain and they work fine. I guess heavy rain isn't the best to test these thing. I find semi dry conditions really seperate the good and bad, but in my experience pretty much new-ness is the main factor and all the rubbers degrade at some point.
