i has been on a jaunt to New Zealand - it is lovely , friendly low population in the South Island and clean - as in not much litter - there where some weird cooker types but all good hahaha
so my point - it looking for a high quality brand name mtb , Santa Cruz ,pivot, jamis , ibis etc ( cargo bike to explore ? ) the deals in Nelson made me pause for thought and go. ‘Wow”
Fly in , buy bike , ride for days , go home with ‘ trail tested ‘ bike

We are in Wanaka for a couple of days after 3 weeks of bush walking. Head back to Tassie Thursday. I second all @rextheute has said! No riding on this trip but already planning our return. Some local's on a path we were walking along the lake told us there is now a ride from Golden Bay in the north to Tuatapere on the south. @ozzy do you use quicklinks or drive a fresh pin through the ends of a chain to connect it?
If anything, I would have thought it would be the quicklink failing if it hadn't been installed correctly, or it had been used a few times and was supposed to be single use only.
