Bargain buys thread

I used a 30.9 KS LEV dropper & a shim on a Banshee seat tube that is 31.6mm with no issues. It's a proper shim, not a home-brew one. Can't remember the brand. Could have been Cane Creek or Problem Solvers.
+1 I got sick of never having the right size dropper for a new project so it is 30.9 droppers all the way for me too. A decent quality machined shim with a shoulder on the top is the key to success, even the cheapos that were like shim stock that chain reaction used the sell are shite.

I don't know anything about these forks, but they look like a bargain. I love when retailers out no effort into detailing a product they sell...

At least it's 650C, whatever the frick that is :p

Specifications. Rim Diameter 27.5" / 650C

Rushes down, grabs Vernier's, measures 2 x hardtails that get ridden very rarely and have had their droppers repurposed, both 31.6 😔
@ozzybmx USE (Ultimate Sports Engineering) is the brand of shim I'm using.

I have a few Muqzi here from Ali that work alright, 100mm long with the collar.

Just checked and of course the 31.9-30.6 reducers are gone, just leaving 30.9-27.2, reckon I might have used it on the post you sold me @shiny

Posts ordered

i has been on a jaunt to New Zealand - it is lovely , friendly low population in the South Island and clean - as in not much litter - there where some weird cooker types but all good hahaha

so my point - it looking for a high quality brand name mtb , Santa Cruz ,pivot, jamis , ibis etc ( cargo bike to explore ? ) the deals in Nelson made me pause for thought and go. ‘Wow”
Fly in , buy bike , ride for days , go home with ‘ trail tested ‘ bike

cycle infrastructure is pretty good - and we saw a lot of gravel burner , bike packing on everything from a old school steel framed Apollo to hard core downhill full downhill set ups.
Were many of em !

As I am out of touch, it was nice to wander thru bike shops , that had a ll the gear and range and were happy to ‘ no judge , how can I help ? ‘ with actual interest .

And I have never seen so many Santa Cruz bikes been used as commuters , shop runners - and e- bikes are definitely a thing !

We are in Wanaka for a couple of days after 3 weeks of bush walking. Head back to Tassie Thursday. I second all @rextheute has said! No riding on this trip but already planning our return. Some local's on a path we were walking along the lake told us there is now a ride from Golden Bay in the north to Tuatapere on the south. Even a truck load of trails inside the Wanaka township.

Can add that Gravity Nelson is a great shop. Really helpful service and cheap rates for getting stuff fixed. About a 10 minute ride from there to the start of the trails facing the SE of Nelson too.

2019 Santa Cruz Hightower for $2k in large

As sad as it is when a store closes there’s some bargains, especially if you need Giant specific parts or you need some kit.
Maybe a COTFW coming soon; as I purchased a light made for Giant e-commuter that I need to install, apparently plug and play but that hasn’t stopped me before from stuffing something easy up.

Not bad

Also; needed a refill:
