Hey team
I'm fed up with my shitty Rhino Rack, and my bike is getting scratched by the damn thing, so I'm after a hitch-mount tray rack
Yakima Holdup Evo looks the best option as I can buy locally, but am also interested in a Rocky Mount Monorail Solo as I normally ride on my own, with an option to extend
Any others I should be considering?
Also seen an Allen AR200 locally that looks similar to the above, and $100 cheaper than the Yak

Can vouch for the holdup, even as an upright fan. Have one on the wife’s car. Nice and solid, nothing touching aside from wheels, as you know.

They rate pretty well, and the Allen and Rocky Mounts ones look similar
Yak I can get from my LBS for ~$650 but 99Bikes have an Allen one for $500 I'm leaning towards mainly due to cost
Yak and Rocky Mounts ones are modular though, however not sure when I'm going to get more than 2 bikes on there

But does the Allen come with a built in bottle opener like the Yak does?!?!

There was a 4 x ISI on fakebook a couple of days ago. $600 but can't remember the location.

Has anyone lost one of these bits off thier Yakima Front Loader? Was wondering if I need to cable tie it in, seems pretty flimsy where it clips in.

I haven’t looked at the Allen or RM, but racks are one place I never skimp.
Mad not to get one that you can potentially add to though, IMHO. You never know.

Agree on above, a good rack is something that you'll likely keep for many years across several cars and trust us it won't be that long before your young one will be tagging along on adventures. My advice would be to buy the extension as soon as you can or you might find that it becomes unavailable after just a few years.

Looks like its the Yak. RockyMounts only do a +1 add-on and the build quality of the Allen has a few complaints on Amazon, and isn't expandable

No luck today picking up a HoldUp Evo as the LBS I normally go to only had one already sold.
I did go to a different one on the way back though and they had a Singlespeed which I was also interested in but they didn't list on their website.
As I normally ride on my own or meet others at the trail this wasn't an issue so I grabbed that. Also half the price of the Evo with all the features other than not folding/tilting
As my kids are young, their bikes can go in the car for now and I'll pick up something more suitable for the tribe down when the time comes
