Little forest road is council land. The gates are locked to prevent vehicles entering. You can enter by foot or by bike. There's a convenient hole in the fence on the right that you'll need to walk your bike through.

I would advise trying to arrange going down there with someone who knows the trail though. There's still some trail that could be mistakenly ridden that shouldn't be and you wouldn't want to miss the proper trail.

On another note, Sunday was riding pretty good. There's a few bits early on that still need a bit more drainage work. Some sections are riding beautifully though.

For a trail that's still in it's infancy there's some amazing natural riding and so much potential. It'll be great to see it evolve over time (with the support of the council and the community).
Cheers for that, I didn't see the hole in the fence and even if I did I probably wouldn't have gone through. I would like to come to a build day or two to help out but unfortunately my little one has swimming lessons every sat morning. Is there any interest in getting a mid week arvo ride together?

If these trails need traffic I'm more than happy to oblige but I need to know where they are first.

We rode in here today for the first time today in about 2 years. All I can say is thank you to all involved in getting this up and running again, we had a blast and will be back.

Cheers for the escort around lads, we would have never found our way through there unaccompanied and would have probably ended up getting hopelessly lost.

We also picked up a trail partner later on in the shape of a large German Shepard that looked well lost. He followed us for about half a lap, we stopped because we didn't want to lead him out to the main road so gave him a drink of water checked his collar for a phone # but there was none, kept going for a bit then he was gone. Hope he found his way out.

whent out today for a ride ,things look good out there, only problem is I couldn't find the part of the track that leads up towards Heathcote rd,
basically I rode along the top track, dropped down to the lower track near the rock drop off, turned right and followed the track to were it comes out to a fire trail, went down towards the creek but couldn't find any signs of a track , I even crossed over the creek and had a look around but couldn't find anything that looked like single track , so decided to just ride back the way I had come , it was still a good ride but .....
can anyone help me out , so I can ride a complete lap .
Thanks Grant

Turn right and go up the rocky fire trail hill. Then turn left into single. Then watch for another hidden left. After that keep your eye out as the trail heads off to the right.

The big boom gate is now Mia. It was there Sunday morning gone Tuesday. I think a 4x4 must have winched it out.
I would say its status is more KIA than MIA.

There are some outright fuckwits in the world isn't there.....

Interestingly, the last page and half has explained precisely what you seek.
Moorey is right ... you are surly

BOT:
Met with Council last week.

1) Night Soils area is gone ... the LALC has won their land claim. This has been known for awhile but we are now treating it as formal.
- we need to redirect the trail to continue the trail section and form a continuous loop to by pass the area
2) we need to map the new section across the creek
3) we need to map a by pass of little forest road (ie, map the return trail we are currently using :))
4) map a second trail to connect the two parcels of land
- ie we currently have a single connector between the two parcels of land, which was originally slated as a 2 way trail. We are now proposing a 2nd trail so we have a "To" and "From" trail and make them directional ... ascending and descending if you like but its undulating so meh !
5) council signage is going in soon ... trail markers to be added later on.

Would be good if we got a bit more help on the monthly build days in the new year ... next week is the last for the year.

Parking:
Please be mindful of where you park. PLEASE Park Legally !! ... Please do not park across from the ANSTO driveway, even if you see cars there ... DONT ! Please follow the road rules whether riding or driving to the trail head. Please be extra careful crossing the road. Sorry to state the bleeding obvious but very important touch points :loco:

See you next weekend:whoo: some Pushie give aways next week for some lucky testers, maybe a t-shirt or two

was out there this morning, ran into 3 guys sampling our trails and they mentioned that they had seen a shady looking non descript dude , lurking around.........
that wasn't you Al was it ;-)
your right , we need to establish where we want all our trails to go and the type of trails we want, we have done a good job so far ,but I for one would like to know what the overall plan for this place is , I'm not having a go at anyone, but as iv'e said I need to know .
Thanks for listening :)

Re: Lucas Heights / Mill Creek

So, if Lucas Heights is open again, where is the best place to park and enter the trails?
Used to park at Barden Oval and ride across to Lucas Heights Road.
Is this still OK?
Thanks for the info

Last build day for the year this weekend everyone. Be great to close out the year with some good numbers.

Christmas party hangovers are not an excuse for non-attendance!!!
